Nowon sushi buffet weekday opening run and roomy seat gaps: Kuu Kuu

I was craving sushi so badly today, so I headed to the famous Nowon family-meal spot near Hagye Station that my fiancé loves haha — Kuu Kuu! It's such a well-known place that I went in with high expectations, and honestly I came out even more satisfied than I thought I'd be haha.

Where is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, and is there parking?

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is at 247 Nowon-ro, 6th floor, Nowon-gu, Seoul, close to Hagye Station, so it wasn't hard to find at all. It's easy to reach by public transit, and parking is available too, so driving over wasn't a hassle either!!

Inside Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch: how far apart are the tables?

The store at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch was really spacious! Lots of tables and generous gaps between seats, so there was no cramped feeling at all. Maybe that's why so many families were there, along with plenty of group gatherings and work dinners.

Is a weekday opening run at Kuu Kuu Nowon actually quiet?

Since it was a weekday, I figured it would be quiet, so we timed our arrival with opening... but I was shocked to find it already pretty full!😲 It seems like plenty of people come here for lunch gatherings!! With so much group seating, lots of people had come together for lunch, but there were solo diners too!! Popular places really are different, ugh. If we'd come even a little later, it probably would've been even more packed.

What's on the buffet line, from sushi to Korean dishes and dessert

I could immediately tell why this place is famous as a Nowon sushi buffet haha. The sushi varieties were seriously diverse. Salmon, tuna, shrimp, plus rolls and gunkan (battleship sushi), so my plate filled up fast just picking one of each.

And it wasn't just sushi — there was fried food, pizza, pasta, salad, Korean dishes, even dessert, nothing missing! It was great for a group where everyone has different tastes but can still all be happy.

What I ate: salmon sushi and the hot food counter

Naturally I went for the salmon sushi first haha. The salmon was soft and the rice portion was just right, so it was easy to try a bit of everything. The shrimp sushi was tasty too, and the rolls were easy to enjoy without feeling too heavy.

In between I grabbed some fried food and hot food, and I was surprised the quality was better than I expected — it didn't feel like sloppy buffet food at all. Trying one thing after another, I completely lost track of time.

Even though I was already stuffed, dessert had to happen!😂 I finished things off properly with fruit, cake, and ice cream. A buffet really isn't complete without dessert haha.

Does Kuu Kuu Nowon work for family gatherings and work dinners?

Being able to enjoy such a variety of dishes all at once made for a really satisfying meal. It's nice to come with your parents, nice to come with friends, and the biggest advantage is that even when several people visit together, everyone can freely enjoy whatever they want.

Seeing how busy it was even during a weekday opening run made it clear why this place is so popular haha. The food variety and the fun of picking and choosing made for a satisfying meal, and it felt especially suited to anyone looking for a Nowon family-meal spot. Next time I'm craving sushi, I'd love to come back! :)
