It was only about a six-minute walk from Busan Station! The weather was pleasantly cool, so the walk felt really nice. Dal and Sixpence is a popular spot on the first floor of Haesong Building.

A Baeknyeon Gage-certified Korean-style Western pork cutlet recommendation

Parking near Busan Station can be inconvenient. Still, the restaurant said it provides ₩1,000 in support when two or more people dine there.

It has been designated a Baeknyeon Gage, meaning its quality and tradition have been officially recognized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, so I was excited even before visiting. It really was a proper Busan Station pork cutlet spot where I got to experience the charm of authentic old-school handmade cutlets.

Walk into the building and there’s the restaurant right away~ I came for a late lunch, but there were still quite a few guests. It’s Korean-style Western pork cutlet, that nostalgic taste, so my anticipation was through the roof!

I saw in other reviews that the spicy pork cutlet is tasty. I’m terrible with spicy food, so I couldn’t take on the spicy cutlet and tried adding bul sauce instead, haha. Oh! When ordering, you can also choose to have the sauce that normally comes with it served separately~

A spacious, tidy dining room

The interior was quite tidy. It had a comfortable atmosphere for office workers at lunch or families dining together. Table turnover was quick and the space was fairly large, so thankfully there was no wait!

They serve soup before the cutlet comes out. You can sprinkle on pepper to your own taste! It was smooth, nutty, and delicious.

A huge classic cutlet and a generous double portion

Finally, the food arrived!! I was surprised by how big the cutlet was... The regular Korean-style Western pork cutlet comes as one piece, but it was big enough to seem plenty for one adult.

The double portion comes with two cutlets~ The large plate was piled high with huge cutlets. I thought, how are we going to finish all this... but my friend must have loved it, because they scraped the plate clean.

The crisp breading was topped with a soft, sweet sauce, and the savory flavor was incredible. The sauce never became tiring, so I enjoyed it right to the end! I usually prefer dipping my cutlet in sauce, but this sauce was so good that I ate it without getting tired of it.

There was absolutely no meat odor, and the meat was mild and thick—so delicious. Even one piece was so large that it left me full, haha.

Extra bul sauce

I worried the bul sauce would be spicy, but not at all! You don’t need to worry. It seemed more lightly sweet than spicy~ So dipping the cutlet in it was sooo delicious.

Dal and Sixpence served up the very definition of proper old-school Korean-style Western pork cutlets. The standard portion is already generous, but choose the double portion if you want a truly hearty meal! There is no restaurant parking lot, but support is available if you park at Baekyang or Cheonwoo, so I recommend stopping by when you’re craving a warm, nostalgic pork cutlet meal near Busan Station.
