Pre-train family pasta and extra fries at Suwon Station: Rolling Pasta

In short

Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch is a pasta restaurant on the 2nd floor of the building right outside Suwon Station Exit 7 in Suwon, Gyeonggi. A family of four, two daughters and their parents, shared a cheesy oven pasta, a shrimp tomato risotto and an aglio e olio, then ordered a second plate of fries because the kids wanted more. For a filling, non-spicy meal with children before catching a train, Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch is a good choice.

Every now and then I end up taking the train to Seoul with my two daughters. Each time, I look for a good-value restaurant before departure or right after we arrive, when the kids are hungry, something not spicy that they'll actually like.

My younger daughter had been singing about wanting pasta since the day before, so we took the whole family to Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch, a place I'd noticed last time I passed through Suwon Station.

Where is Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch, and is there parking?

Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch is on the 2nd floor of the building right in front of you when you come out of Suwon Station Exit 7, so it's very easy to find even on a first visit. Since it's near the station, there's no separate parking, so I'd recommend public transport.

Is it a comfortable place to go with kids?

The restaurant has an impressive open view, with Suwon Station spread out right outside the windows. Sitting down inside and looking at the station building, I even got that fluttery pre-trip feeling.

Having been there myself, I'd say it has table arrangements for people eating alone in the middle of a busy day, and it's relaxed enough that going with kids, like us, felt no burden at all. (There's also a big space further inside, so even at lunchtime you could probably walk right in without a wait.)

Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch prices and set menus

At Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch you can have a filling meal for about ₩10,000 per person, and if you use a set menu, a drink is included, which makes it even more reasonable. With restaurant prices these days, that's a real plus.

Each of us picked according to our own taste. The kids got their favorite, the cheesy oven pasta, I had the shrimp tomato risotto with a spicy kick, and my husband ordered the garlicky aglio e olio.

Cheesy oven pasta the kids finished in no time

The real appeal of Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch is, of course, the taste. The kids who ordered the cheesy oven pasta scooped generous amounts of the cheese covering the top onto their noodles and emptied the whole bowl in no time.

Shrimp tomato risotto that needed no pickles

When I tried it, the shrimp tomato risotto had just the right looseness and a pleasant spiciness, so good that I didn't need pickles on the side at all.

The aglio e olio my husband praised

My husband also praised the aglio e olio at Rolling Pasta, saying it was zesty and still kept the true character of an oil pasta.

The secret cheat code we ordered twice: french fries

There's a secret cheat code at Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch you absolutely shouldn't miss: the french fries.

Crispy french fries served with ketchup

The kids were enjoying them so much that I tried some myself. The fries were plump and moist inside, and so crispy and piping hot that they tasted even better. The whole family blew on them and dipped them in ketchup.

In the end the kids were so sad to be done that we ordered one more plate. (They all said they probably can't go back to the McDonald's fries they used to love.) Whenever my daughters say they want pasta from now on, I think we'll head straight to Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch without hesitation.
