Reserved table and cheese fried rice at Suwon Station BBQ: Ssosam 208

I went to get some good meat near Suwon Station recently, and the pork belly I had for dinner was seriously incredible, so I'm bringing it to you right away. Today I'm introducing a place known for great meat near Suwon Station — Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch!

I really love it when someone else grills the meat for me, and here, the pork belly had me going "wow..." after just one bite. It's juicy and savory, and the staff grilled everything perfectly so I could just relax and eat. Plus the staff were so kind and the service was flawless, which kept me in a good mood the whole meal!

Inside Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch: seating and atmosphere

This is the entrance to Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch! Ssosam 208 is a chain I already go to often, but this was my first visit to the Suwon Station location.

Inside, it was really spacious and clean. There were tables of various sizes, 4-person and 8-person, which looked great for group gatherings or work dinners.

We had made a reservation, so when we arrived the side dishes were already all set up haha. And there's that stone plate, the Ssosam 208 signature! The meat grilled on that stone plate is really delicious.

We arrived pretty hungry, so we ordered generously — mixed stone-grill platter (medium), beef short rib doenjang stew (soybean paste stew), and flying fish roe steamed egg.

Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch was also running a Naver receipt review event. Participate in the review event and get free cheese fondue!! Amazing. Everyone, make sure to participate and get the extra treat.

On top of the kiosk, instructions were written on how to enjoy Ssosam 208 the best way. We're already regulars, so we knew all of this well!

Why is it called Ssosam 208? The 208-degree stone plate

On one wall, there was a sign explaining that the '208' in Ssosam 208 refers to the temperature of the stone grill!! I genuinely had no idea about this. No wonder the staff kept checking the grill temperature.

Staff grill the pork on the stone plate for you

Our ordered meat arrived. The color is just killer... the meat quality is so good.

I was starving at this point, and watching the meat cook on the stone grill made my mouth water. The cheese fondue sauce was bubbling away too~~ This is how Ssosam 208 does it — staff kindly grill the meat for you, haha. The staff member was so good at grilling!!

I tried the well-cooked meat topped with wild chive (myeongi namul) and various garnishes! As expected from meat that looked this good, the taste was killer too. Really savory and delicious.

And the kicker at Ssosam 208 is dipping the meat straight into the cheese sauce like this. It's seriously delicious. My hand kept reaching for it.

Beef brisket doenjang stew, steamed egg with flying fish roe and cheese fried rice

The beef short rib doenjang stew came out bubbling hot, with a good amount of meat in it and a really delicious broth.

Then the flying fish roe steamed egg arrived. The portion was really generous. It tasted great, but the amount was seriously huge. I got full just eating it, haha.

And to finish, cheese fried rice~~ Need I say more, it's delicious. I ate until I was completely stuffed, haha.

Would I go back for pork belly near Suwon Station?

Today I visited Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch, and I honestly had no idea there was such an amazing pork belly restaurant near Suwon Station — it was such a satisfying meal. The meat was perfect, crispy outside and juicy inside, paired with clean side dishes, and the staff grilled it themselves with expert hands, making everything comfortable and friendly. The store atmosphere was also full of character and spotless, which made the meal even more enjoyable. From now on, whenever I'm craving pork belly near Suwon Station, this is definitely where I'll go!!
