Wanting a special evening somewhere with a great atmosphere, I visited Le Garden Bleu, a French restaurant known as one of the best pasta spots in Eojin-dong, Sejong. The spacious, clean underground parking lot made driving there really convenient — with all that room, I could park without any worry and head straight up. (Park near GATE 2 in the underground lot.)

Walking past the fountain plaza to Le Garden Bleu

After parking and coming up into the building, a gorgeous outdoor plaza with dazzling lighting greeted me — the fountain shooting up in the center of the plaza combined with the soft lighting made for an even more romantic mood.

Walking along while admiring the pretty wall decorations lit up with dazzling lighting and the jets of water was fun in itself. Just strolling around and looking at the surroundings put me in a good mood — the perfect Eojin-dong date course.

Following the lights and floor fountains along the walkway, today's destination finally appeared. Through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, a warm interior glow spilled out, and I couldn't wait to go inside.

I really liked the cozy restaurant interior visible past the neatly glowing sign.

What the inside of Le Garden Bleu looks like

Inside, Le Garden Bleu was filled with warm wood tables and cozy lighting. It really felt like a comfortable place to sit and eat.

On the table, neatly set cutlery and a soft mood lamp were waiting. In that cozy atmosphere, I picked through the menu wondering what to eat today.

After sitting down and waiting a bit, I noticed the window-side view with a cool water bottle and glasses set out. It's a warm space that softly reflects the night view outside.

Table filled with a full French meal

Starting dinner with gazpacho soup

The dishes I ordered filled the table looking absolutely delicious — a full French course showing off the best of Sejong's Western dining.

Among them, the gaspacho soup loaded with fresh cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumber, and plenty of extra virgin olive oil was novel and delicious. It's a great dish to enjoy cold, both sweet and tangy.

Taking a full spoonful, the natural flavor of the fresh ingredients spread through my mouth. Good 👍

Carbonara-style risotto topped with egg yolk

Next was the carbonara-style risotto. The chewy, springy texture of the Italian rice instantly won me over. A carbonara-style risotto where you crack and mix in the egg yolk yourself — the combination alone is perfect. 👍

A spoonful of risotto with pancetta and mushrooms

The salty pancetta, fragrant mushrooms, and minced shrimp adding savoriness all came together — every spoonful was packed with flavor haha.

Next up was the salmon steak garden. At a glance the colors were so vibrant that my eyes were drawn to the plate the moment it arrived 😄. I gave the salmon steak a light poke with my fork, and it flaked apart smoothly along the grain, clearly moist. The moment it hit my mouth, the outside was savory and the inside melted away. Haha.

The oats, lentils, and hemp seeds underneath added a fresh popping texture, and the cabbage, salad leaves, tomato, and fruit kept adding freshness so it never got boring. Especially the tangy red onion pickle and beet really cut through the richness — a genius touch!

Golden-baked naturally fermented brioche

Naturally fermented brioche with tapenade sauce

The brioche came out with such a rich buttery aroma that my hand reached for it right away. Tearing into the golden-baked crust revealed an endlessly fluffy, moist inside. The 'tapenade' sauce made with olives, anchovies, and herbs felt a little unfamiliar, but spread lightly on the bread, its salty savoriness paired perfectly with the buttery flavor — really delicious.
