Do you know Metaprovence, the must-visit spot on any Damyang trip? It's an exotic recreation of Provence, the famous French resort town, so it draws a lot of tourists. After a walk down the green metasequoia tree-lined road, I stopped by Frank Coffin Bar, a Damyang café, for coffee and bakery.

If you're doing a Damyang trip, Metaprovence is the number one recommended stop 🌲. Frank Coffin Bar Damyang sits right at the entrance to Metaprovence, so it's really easy to find. There's parking beside the building, so I parked and walked over.

Nearby you'll find the metasequoia road, Juknokwon bamboo forest, Gwanbangjerim, and Soswaewon, all about 10 minutes by car, so this is a great stop to add to a Damyang trip.

Wood-toned vintage interior and seating

A space full of wood-toned interiors and elegant vintage props. I especially wanted that speaker playing such moody music 😊

There are floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides, so sunlight pours into the space. It has a nice atmosphere in the daytime, but at night, the soft indirect lighting lowers the brightness for a cozy feel.

There's an even bigger space toward the back of the store?!?! The seats are spacious and the tables are well spread out, so you could totally chat here all day long ❗️

Frank Coffin Bar, this Damyang café, has a wide range of menu items — coffee, lattes, tea, signature drinks, beverages, matcha, bakery, and more. The signature cream latte, Frank Coffee, is especially the kick here ☕️

Behind the menu board you can see the croffles. There's original, brown cheese, and churro flavors, all topped with vanilla ice cream, and they're seriously delicious. Highly recommend ⭐️

The showcase is packed with bakery items. If it were open and exposed, you'd worry about dust settling on it, but this clean, hygienic display case is great ✨

This is a place where the showcase goes nearly empty in the afternoon, so I deliberately came after 10am. Pat myself on the back for that one 😍🫶 Everyone — come early. You'll get to see the full, gorgeous bakery lineup.

Tasting time — Frank Coffee and three breads

What I ordered: Americano, Frank Coffee, dirty choco pain au chocolat, egg tart, croissant, pain au chocolat. Isn't the receipt edgy? I kind of want to trace that Snoopy drawing ❤️

First up, Frank Coffee. This is the signature cream latte you must order when you come to Frank Coffin Bar. Soft cream sits on top of the latte with cinnamon powder sprinkled on top, making it feel even more like fall 🍁🍂 I drank it straight without stirring and it was seriously delicious. Sweet-latte lovers, order this one without a doubt.

Dirty choco pain au chocolat, egg tart, pain au chocolat. Cafés in scenic tourist spots usually make you lower your expectations for the bread, but this is seriously delicious, holding its own against a dedicated bakery. The ingredients are rich and it's really chewy ❤️ The fact that so many items sell out by the afternoon proves how popular it is :)

Final thoughts

Frank Coffin Bar, a Damyang café, has a calm and cozy feel as a bakery café, with a gorgeous bread lineup and great coffee, making it a perfect spot for a weekend date in Damyang. It's not easy for a café at a hot tourist spot to nail both atmosphere and taste. I think it's worth a visit once you're at Metaprovence in Damyang.
