Yangsan brunch café near Hopo Station: mango pastry at Choi
In short
Choi Main Branch is a bakery café in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, standing right in front of Hopo Station on Busan Subway Line 2 with floor-to-ceiling windows over the Nakdong River. Arriving at 11am with a classmate from a start-up course, the writer paired mango pastry, goreuge bread and a croissant with coffee, and found the order-on-the-first-floor, pick-up-on-the-second-floor flow and the large parking lot easy. Choi Main Branch suits anyone near Busan who wants a light brunch of coffee and bread with a river view.

Café Choi in Hopo, Yangsan, near Busan
Parking at Choi Main Branch in front of Hopo Station
Choi Main Branch is a large bakery café in Yangsan right in front of Hopo Station on Busan Subway Line 2. I went today with a classmate from my entrepreneurship course. It was around 11am and it was already busy.
I used to occasionally visit this spot for its Nakdong River view when it was called Haewoldang, and it turns out it's now Café Choi. Before, I came by subway, but today I drove and found the parking lot spacious, with a separate outdoor lot too, so there was no parking stress at all.

A blue ribbon was posted at the entrance, and the bread lineup had gotten a lot bigger than before — lots of interesting-looking breads.

How ordering works: 1st-floor counter, 2nd-floor pickup
At Café Choi, you load bread onto a tray on the 1st floor, order it along with coffee there, then pick everything up on the 2nd floor. We sat by the window and had the coffee brought up to us, so we didn't need to go back downstairs for it — really convenient, loved it.

Seats and the Nakdong River view at Choi Main Branch
The interior is spacious, as befits a large café, and air purifiers placed here and there kept the air feeling fresh.
The seats were spaced well apart, with various options including group seating, so it was good for chatting with a friend and looked comfortable for family or couple visits too. What I liked most was the sweeping Nakdong River view through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Looking out at the wide-open view without any sense of being boxed in felt almost like my chest was opening up too — genuinely healing haha. My classmate and I took a window seat and ordered coffee and bread, and it was just perfect for slowly taking in the scenery. With good coffee and a great view together, the coffee break felt more leisurely than usual.

How do the mango pastry, goreuge bread and croissant taste?
The coffee was better than I expected too — good aroma, clean taste, perfect for sipping slowly while enjoying the view.
Café Choi is a bakery café with a wide variety of breads, not just coffee, so picking what to eat was half the fun. The bread display had quite a range and everything looked delicious, so I spent a while deciding. In the end we had mango pastry, gorge, and croissant with our coffee. The croissant seems to be the signature item, but the mango pastry was loaded with mango and had really good cream too. And the gorge was hearty enough to feel like a simple meal, so it worked really well as brunch.
If you visit late morning or during lunch and enjoy coffee with bread, it can easily cover a light brunch. So I thought this is a café near Busan that really suits anyone who wants to spend a relaxed time with good bread and coffee.

Café Choi in front of Hopo Station on Line 2 is a place I'd recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a full brunch there too.

Super Membership discount and why we'd return to Choi Main Branch
Both the coffee and the bakery view were satisfying, and it was even better getting a bread discount through the Super Membership app. Chatting with my classmate over good coffee and bread, I completely lost track of time. Talking while looking out at the wide-open Nakdong River made the conversation feel even more relaxed and easy.
It was nice realizing you don't have to travel far to find a great view and a place to rest so close to Busan. If you like Yangsan cafés, cafés near Busan, or a Hopo café with a gorgeous Nakdong River view, Café Choi is worth a stop. Next time I'd like to try other kinds of bread and enjoy the river view a bit more leisurely.
