Yangsan bakery café new pastries: pistachio escargot at Choi

Choi Main Branch is a large three-story bakery café in Hopo, Dongmyeon, Yangsan, Gyeongnam, which changed its name from Yangsan Haewoldang and still runs in the same building. This visit covered two new items, the pistachio escargot and the glutinous pumpkin bread, along with the quignon amann tradition and Choi rice cake, paired with an airy-cano and an americano. The chewy glutinous pumpkin bread was the standout, and with this many kinds of bread, Choi Main Branch is a place worth walking around once before choosing.

Today I'm sharing my visit to Choi, a big café in Hopo! Choi is operating under a new name, having rebranded from the well-known Yangsan bakery Yangsan Haewoldang!
How much bread is on the 1st floor at Choi Main Branch?
The 1st floor of Choi Main Branch is mainly for ordering, and it's packed full of many different kinds of baked goods!
There was also a standing area for people waiting to pick up takeout orders! With virus sterilization certification and a virus care zone certification, you can shop with peace of mind!
On the 1st floor there's also a menu board with best-sellers and drinks, so check it out~~!
The bakery is largely split into two sections! There are so many kinds that I'd recommend doing a full lap before choosing!!!
There's also a separate dessert section with whole cakes, cake slices, waffle desserts, macarons, chocolates and more!
Roll cakes, sandwiches and other items were kept fresh in the fridge!
Panettone, yakbbang (rice cake style sweet bread), baguette, garlic bread, soboru bread, salt bread, croissant, focaccia, manju.
Castella, pound cake, twisted donuts, toast bread, croquette, quignon amann, ciabatta, pastry, mont blanc, viennoiserie, pie.
Crookies, galettes, chou blanc, kkurungji (rice crust bread), palmier, hotteok, black rice bread, mixed grain bread, monie bread — from basic breads to fusion breads, there's practically nothing missing!!!! In particular, the baguette and croissant even won championship titles, so they're seriously delicious!!!! Whenever we visit because the bread here is so good, we tend to grab a lot to take home too~!!

After ordering, you can use the stairs to reach the 2nd–3rd floors, but there's also an elevator for anyone who has trouble walking, and umbrellas are on hand for rooftop use depending on the weather~!
Up on the 3rd floor rooftop there's a space where you can take in the Nakdong River view all at once! As the weather gets cooler, sitting outside is a great choice on a nice day!!!
2nd-floor café seating and amenities at Choi Main Branch
You can pick up drinks on the 2nd floor of Choi Main Branch, and there's a self-packing station where you can wrap up any leftover bread to take home! There's also a separate staircase on the 2nd floor leading up to the 3rd floor rooftop! Besides that, gender-separated restrooms, baby chairs, spare chairs and blankets are all well equipped, so keep that in mind!
The 2nd floor is set up as a café space with floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can see the outdoors at a glance! Since the sunlight is strong, blinds are installed, but when the sun isn't out you can see outside clearly!
There's a lot of seating, so it's great for visiting with family, friends, group gatherings, or couples!!!
Airy-cano and americano, with a decaf swap
At Choi Main Branch we ordered an airy-cano, an americano, and some bakery items! It was great that the coffee could be switched to decaf too!!! Good for drinking without worry even late in the afternoon!!!!! It has a flavor that's easy to drink daily, without much to dislike!
How do the new pistachio escargot and glutinous pumpkin bread taste?
For bakery items we ordered the pistachio escargot, glutinous pumpkin bread, quignon amann tradition, and Choi rice cake!!
The pistachio escargot was this round's new bakery item, and the nutty pistachio flavor blended with the sweetness in a surprisingly good way..!!!!! The glutinous pumpkin bread was so chewy it reminded me of pumpkin jeon (pan-fried pumpkin)! Totally recommend!!
The quignon amann tradition is my partner's favorite item, so we buy it every time we visit!!! The crispiness and sweetness are amazing..!!!! The Choi rice cake is a dorayaki-style bread, and the fluffy bread pairs really well with the sweet red bean! I think adults would love it too!!!!
