Today I went to Hippy, located on Jeonpo café street — a street I used to wander all the time. I love Jeonpo cafés so much there's barely one I haven't been to, so let me tell you about Hippy, which had such a lovely mood, in this post ><

Finding Hippy in a Jeonpo side alley: entrance and interior

Hippy had good vibes even before I stepped in. From the entrance it gave off a 'this is the good-mood café' feeling, and the big wooden door only heightened the mood.

The tables were spaced comfortably apart and there seemed to be plenty of seats. Mood lights placed here and there made the atmosphere even better 😊

Hippy also sold party supplies. If a whole cake feels like too much, just grab a mini dessert at Hippy and stick a candle in it — instant popular-kid status!! They also sold Hippy mascot mugs.

Hippy's slice cake lineup and what we ordered

There were so many kinds of slice cake! I had to pick just one, and after much agonizing I went with the basil tomato cake!! I heard the fig one sells well too, so I'll try that next time.

I think Hippy's mascot is a dog. They were also selling dog mascot goods and keyrings! So cute,,🥰

What does the signature Hippy latte taste like?

Since the Hippy latte is the signature, that's what I chose 🫡 A handmade espresso-slush hazelnut 'Deowisanang' style coffee — I'd never had anything like it, so I was excited!!><

I sat at a table with a teddy bear for company. For dessert I picked the basil tomato cake and the sweet potato mattang (candied sweet potato) financier.

You're supposed to stir the Hippy latte before drinking, but I preferred sipping it by mouth rather than through a straw — that way I could taste the whipped cream and coffee at the same time 😄

The basil tomato cake — the tomato and basil flavors were so strong, filling my whole mouth. The outside had a slightly hard, tart-like texture, which I was into. A totally new flavor for me 🤤

The sweet potato mattang financier was something I'd never tried before either,,! It really was mattang (candied sweet potato) through and through, haha. Anyone who loves sweets would be satisfied.

Who will enjoy Hippy in Busanjin?

Hippy, the feel-good Jeonpo café. I never imagined such a hip café existed in this Jeonpo side alley. Recommended for anyone who wants a tart-style cake! And if a big cake feels like too much, box up a cute, dainty mini cake from Hippy and become today's popular kid,,!! The staff were kind and the atmosphere was great, so I think I'll be back 😃
