Once you visit, you can't help but become a regular! It's a chain, but it's the kind of place you go to no matter what if it's in your neighborhood. Let's start the review 💛

Here's the entrance 💗 This place sells premium 1+ grade dwitgogi (rare pork cuts) — you can taste as many as 14 different specialty cuts here.
Inside Dwitdon Sanghoe: old-school room and the self-serve bar

Inside, the tables are round four-tops with a strong old-school feel, and I noticed customers of all ages, from 20-somethings to middle-aged diners, eating together. That's the true vibe of a neighborhood favorite in Jeonpo — it raised my expectations even more.

Above all, this place has way more than just samgyeopsal (pork belly) or makchang (pork intestine) — kkodeulsal, pork tail, doraechang, and skin are all on the menu too. From fatty cuts to lean ones to chewy textures, you can pick according to your taste, so it's a satisfying spot for anyone who loves rare pork cuts.
They also had a review event running across three platforms — Naver, Google, and Danggeun Market — giving out doenjang jjigae or kimchi jjigae. I told myself I absolutely had to take part in that...

There's also a self-serve bar tucked in a corner of the restaurant so you can help yourself without feeling awkward about it. But the owner was so friendly that I never once needed to go to the self-serve bar. Let me introduce the menu first 💗
Dwitdon Sanghoe menu and what we ordered

The biggest strength of Dwitdon Sanghoe is definitely the variety of rare cuts. From kkodeulsal to pork tail, doraechang, and skin, they sell all kinds of cuts, plus familiar options like samgyeopsal and makchang. The side dishes are pretty solid too — bombastic steamed egg, doenjang sulbap, kimchi jjigae, naengmyeon, hangover ramyeon — plenty of options good for finishing off a meal, which also makes it a good spot for drinks with friends.
What we ordered
- Dwitdon half-set
- Pork tail x1
- Doenjang sulbap x1
- Chamisul soju x1
Free banchan: bibim noodles and tofu kimchi
From dubu kimchi (tofu with stir-fried kimchi) to bibim noodles (spicy mixed noodles), assorted pickles, and lettuce wraps, they had it all ready, plus a wide range of sauces to pair with the meat — galchisokjeot (fermented hairtail guts), myeolchijeot (fermented anchovy), curry powder, spicy sauce, garlic, ssamjang, and geotjeori (fresh kimchi).

The bibim noodles that come as a basic banchan were especially good. Pairing the meat with the sweet and tangy noodles was a perfect match — a real banchan genius of a Jeonpo pork BBQ spot!
The Dwitdon half-pig set: 500g of six rare pork cuts

Here's the Dwitdon half-set, beautifully plated on a cutting board. It comes generously loaded with six cuts: dwithangjeong, dwittongsal, seolhasal, ppolsal, gwanjasal, and kotdeungsal.
They started us off with my favorite cut, dwittongsal. This is exactly the classic dwitgogi feel we all think of! Even though it's a half-set, it's 500g, so the portion was bigger than I expected.

Personally, I liked it cooked well done — once the outside is fully cooked, it gets a slightly crisp texture while the fat pops with juice, and the way that blends with the lean meat was really good.

It has that chewy texture unique to rare cuts along with a nutty flavor — my favorite cut of the day •̀ᴗ•̀ The meat itself is great, but it also worked well wrapped in lettuce.

The ppolsal (cheek meat) and seolhasal (under-tongue meat) were also so good — each cut has a different texture and its own charm, which I think is the real fun of eating an assorted platter.

The bibim noodles were slightly spicy too, so pairing them with ppolsal wrapped together was delicious. It had a pork shoulder-like feel — lean but nutty.

Even if you come with someone who prefers fatty cuts and someone who prefers leaner meat, you can each pick the cut that suits your taste — total win (〃⌒▽⌒〃)ゝ

Adding the pork tail, deboned and spread flat
While deciding what to add, I figured you have to get the pork tail here. Dwitdon Sanghoe's pork tail comes out a bit differently from other places — the bone is removed so it's laid out flat and easy to eat.
Pork tail can burn easily on the grill though, so it was better to slowly cook it off to the side. Grilled well done, the texture turns really chewy.

It's delicious dipped in bean powder, and just as good in the spicy sauce, too ,,! It feels like eating a collagen-packed mini pork trotter boneless — highly recommend for anyone who loves rare cuts!

Finishing the meal with doenjang sulbap
I finished off with my favorite doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice cooked on the grill). They thoughtfully put it right on the grill for us — this place really knows its doenjang, haha. It's tasty as is, but simmering it slowly makes it even thicker and richer.

The doenjang flavor is savory and deep, soaking right into the rice grains for maximum umami! A filling finish all the way through :)
