Today I went back to a café I loved visiting with my husband♡ — this time not with him, but with my mom♡. Let's get into the post!

What kind of café is Otter Rabbit House?

Otter Rabbit House, a brunch café near Woelgwang Waterside Park, lets you enjoy brunch, bakery, and coffee all in one place — great when you want to sit down for a proper meal at a café. With its warm European-style atmosphere and an outdoor terrace, it's an even more appealing spot on nice-weather days!

They've now also opened an Otter Rabbit House Jongno branch in Jung-gu, Daegu, so it might be worth a visit if you're in that area!

Parking and how to get to Otter Rabbit House

Let me tell you how to find Otter Rabbit House! There's no subway nearby, so you'll need to take a bus for public transit. If you're driving, you can park in an open spot in the alley near or in front of the café.

Inside Otter Rabbit House in Sangin-dong

Time to show you the inside of Otter Rabbit House, the brunch café in Sangin-dong!! ;) The European vibe is real, right? Even the exterior blends brick and wood for a warm, cozy feel. The slightly European-style facade makes you want to start taking photos before you even walk in! I skipped photos since I wasn't wearing makeup, but I took some of my mom♡ and she loved it, hahaha.

The warm, comfortable atmosphere centered on wood tones was the first thing that caught my eye, and my mom♡ kept raving about how pretty the place was! There are also extra chairs placed around, so feel free to grab one if your table needs more seating. Overall it didn't feel crowded at all — more like a relaxing place to linger, which made it feel great for just resting. The window seats had a nice atmosphere too, perfect for photos with coffee and dessert in front of you 😊

The outdoor terrace

I especially loved the outdoor terrace space. It's the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee on a nice day, with a different charm from the indoor space. You could quietly spend time inside, or enjoy the vibe on the terrace when the weather's good.

Just a note — the men's restroom is located out by the terrace, while the women's restroom is inside.

Curious about the menu at Otter Rabbit House, the brunch café in Sangin-dong? Let me show you! It's a café, but with a pretty wide brunch menu, so it's also great for a simple meal. Pasta, French toast, salad pasta — having actual meal options gives it a different feel from a coffee-only café!

🥐 The bakery display looked genuinely mouthwatering, and my mom♡, who loves bread, agonized over whether to get brunch or bakery items. Her whole dilemma was so funny, haha.

Pastry-type items like croissants and pies really caught my eye — each one looked so appetizing I wanted to pair pretty much all of them with coffee. Lots of bakery items that suit my taste, which made Otter Rabbit House even more satisfying!

What my mother and I ordered

After a bit more deliberating than expected, here's what we decided on!

• Signature castella latte
• Hot vanilla bean latte
• Bolognese ragu pasta (mild)
• Castella croissant

Order placed! In the end, we picked both pasta and bakery items, hahahahaha.

Signature castella latte

A must-order at Otter Rabbit House! It's the signature castella latte 🤎 You can add coffee or order it without — the coffee is cold brew, so I skipped it and went with the basic version! Doesn't it just look sweet from the visual alone? A generous dusting of castella (Japanese-style sponge cake) crumbs on top of soft cream makes it look completely different from a regular latte. The sweet, fluffy castella, the smooth cream, and the coffee's slight bitterness came together nicely, making it feel more like a dessert. Right up my alley!

Hot vanilla bean latte

I took a sip of my mom's♡ hot vanilla bean latte — the smooth latte with a subtle hint of vanilla was easy to drink without feeling heavy. "A café known for good lattes" fits this place perfectly ;) If you like warm drinks, the vanilla latte is a safe, solid pick — recommended if you're in the mood for coffee.

Bolognese ragu pasta, mild version

My mom♡ had never tried bolognese ragu pasta before. It comes in mild or spicy, and the two of us picked mild — though now I'm curious about the spicy version too. The tomato-based ragu sauce coated the noodles nicely, and the mild version was easy on the palate without being heavy or overpowering. My mom♡ said it was so good that she ate almost all of it, hahaha. Glad we ordered it — imagine if we hadn't, haha.
