In short

Sanseong Sikyukjeom Jeonpo Direct Store is a Korean BBQ restaurant on Jeonpo-daero 210beon-gil in Busanjin, Busan, where the staff grill the meat for you. The order was Set A (pork belly, nuruk pork neck and a special cut, 500g in total) with suhyangmi hot-pot rice and a drink, and the whole garlic cloves grilled in the meat's own fat and the castella-soft egg roll stood out most. With a private room and baby chairs, Sanseong Sikyukjeom also suits company dinners and larger groups.

Today I'm introducing a place in Jeonpo — Sanseong Sikyukjeom Jeonpo Direct Store~~ Meat is always right, you know?><

There's a Sanseong Sikyukjeom in Dongnae too, and I'd always been curious about it~ Then I had plans in Jeonpo and was craving meat, so while searching I found out the place I'd been curious about had a Jeonpo branch too, so I went to check it out haha

Where is Sanseong Sikyukjeom Jeonpo Direct Store, and what are the hours?

Inside Sanseong Sikyukjeom: 12 tables for four and a private room

Interior view of Sanseong Sikyukjeom Jeonpo Direct Store

The interior is really pleasant! There are 12 tables for four in total. One table sits against each side wall, and in the middle there are two four-person tables pushed together.

Private room space for group gatherings

There's a private room too! I thought it would be perfect for a company dinner or group gathering in many ways. I feel like I'll have a group gathering coming up, so I should come back haha

A corner of the restaurant with a baby chair and coat hooks

Looking around, there were little thoughtful touches! There's a baby chair, and in winter you always end up taking off your coat and it's awkward to find space for it — but there are coat hooks too haha

Sanseong Sikyukjeom menu and how to order at the table

Large menu board hanging at the entrance

There's a big menu board at the entrance! Sometimes I decide what to eat while walking around, and when that happens, restaurants with a menu board at the entrance catch my eye and interest!

Table menu with QR ordering instructions

Once you're seated, there's also a menu at each pre-set table! You order via the QR code on the table! Lots of restaurants seem to use QR ordering these days — older guests might find it unfamiliar, but the staff took verbal orders for anyone who looked unsure :)

We ordered Set A (pork belly + nuruk pork neck + special cut, 500g), 1 drink, and 1 hot-pot rice.

Table setting and side dishes: barley sprout salad instead of lettuce wraps

The popular BBQ spots in Jeonpo have brutal waits, so I made a reservation ahead of time! When we arrived, the table was already neatly set up~

There were two grill pans, one small plate each. On the side plate there were two kinds of salt! The one on the right, they said, was seaweed salt.

There's also a lineup of dipping sauces (?)! Just looking at the table, I thought 'how am I supposed to know what goes with what...' but there was a guide to the sauces on the left haha

Besides that, there's white kimchi, truffle scallion mayo, radish salad, pickles, and barley sprout salad! The barley sprout salad... is really delicious...! I always need a lettuce wrap when eating meat, but eating it with the barley sprout salad, I didn't miss the wrap at all.

There are paper cups, napkins, and wet wipes on the wall! There's also a call bell — and one clever touch: since a lot of people come to Jeonpo for a drink, there are separate call buttons for soju and beer! I thought that was such a good idea.

The radish soup that comes as a default side is really packed with ingredients! Radish, wood ear mushrooms, meat, and more. Even with a lot of meat in it, it's not greasy at all, very clean-tasting! My first thought was 'this tastes like beef radish soup?' haha you'll know what I mean when you try it~~

Set A, 500g of pork belly, nuruk pork neck and a special cut, grilled by the staff

The meat we ordered arrives! The staff grill it really deliciously for you :)

Meat grilling alongside garnish vegetables

After coating the grill generously with fat, they put the pork belly and pork neck on first! They also grill the garnish vegetables alongside.

Once the meat on the main grill is nearly done, they light the sub grill so it stays warm and move the cooked meat over! The first cut to finish cooking is the nuruk pork neck!

First bite of nuruk pork neck with nuruk salt and seaweed salt

They recommended dipping the first bite in the salts on the side plate, so I tried it with nuruk salt and seaweed salt! Pork neck tends to be a bit dry, so it's not usually my favorite cut, but this wasn't dry at all — moist and delicious. I guess the first bite really is best with just salt! It's a way to really taste the meat itself without it feeling heavy.

Nuruk ssamjang (dipping sauce), barley sprout salad, salted hairtail intestines, herring roe jeotgal (salted seafood), and shiitake wasabi — while we were busy enjoying the variety, they finished grilling the pork belly too, along with the white kimchi and garnish veggies!

Whole garlic grilled in the pork fat is the real highlight

The grill has a step in it, and as the fat drips down to the lower level, they use that fat to grill garlic, white kimchi, and garlic scapes... you know anything grilled in meat fat is delicious, right?

Whole garlic and white kimchi grilling in meat fat

Personally, the garlic... is genuinely insane. No spiciness at all, just really, really nutty and savory. The whole cloves are pretty big so my first impression was a bit intimidating, but it's really, really that good!!

Grilling the special cut, gabrisal

After we'd eaten some of the pork neck and pork belly, they grilled the special cut, gabrisal (skirt-adjacent cut)! Since gabrisal is quite fatty, they recommended eating it with wasabi or shiitake wasabi.

Here's all the meat fully grilled! The portion is really huge... usually two people eat about 300–400g, but 500g is a lot haha

Suhyangmi hot-pot rice and radish soup at Sanseong Sikyukjeom

The suhyangmi hot-pot rice arrived! Since it's cooked to order, it takes 15–20 minutes, so keep that in mind when ordering :) Maybe because it uses suhyangmi rice, it was really delicious! While hot it was moist and tasty, and once it cooled a little it got a nice chewy texture, so it was great eating it right to the last grain!

I considered getting soybean paste stew too but thought it might be too much, so I had it with the complimentary radish soup instead, and it was just right! Still, I'm curious about the soybean paste stew — I'll have to try it next time!

Castella egg roll included with Set A

The set comes with a castella-style egg roll! If you want it spicy, they'll chop in some hot peppers too~ We're weak with spice so we asked for no peppers. This was my first time seeing an egg roll made right in front of me at a BBQ restaurant!

There was enough egg mixture left over after one and a half rolls that they made a second one haha true to its 'castella' name, it looks fluffy just from the sight of it! And it really was fluffy to eat too~

Is Sanseong Sikyukjeom near Jeonpo Station good for group dinners?

I ate until I was more than full, practically bursting..! At some grilling restaurants, when it's busy, staff grill several tables at once and get a bit careless about it haha, but here they explained things as they grilled, and as we got close to finishing, they'd suggest what to pair with the next bite — I really loved that! Best of all, they grilled at the pace we were eating, giving proper attention throughout!

The staff were kind and the restaurant is clean and upscale, so I think it'd be great for occasions where you need to treat someone. It would also work really well for group gatherings or company dinners, and with its Korean-style interior, I think it'd be great to bring international guests here too!

If you're looking for a good restaurant near Jeonpo Station~~ looking for a place for a company dinner near Jeonpo Station~~ looking for the best pork belly near Jeonpo Station~~ you really should visit! I think you'll be satisfied in every way, no regrets!
