The side dishes were also plentiful and neatly prepared, perfect to eat alongside the meat 💛 There's a private room too, so it's perfect for anyone looking for a Seomyeon group dinner or Jeonpo dinner spot. Here's my honest review of 'Sanseong Sikyukjeom Jeonpo Direct Store' ♥️

Finding the restaurant from Jeonpo Station Exit 8
Located near Jeonpo Station Exit 8, this is a staff-grilled Korean BBQ restaurant in the Seomyeon/Jeonpo area 💛 These days I feel like I hardly go anywhere unless they grill it for you, haha. Here, they grill quality meat from start to finish so you can eat comfortably, and it's packed with juices — a genuinely great restaurant, haha.
Inside Sanseong Sikyukjeom: private room and baby chairs
I made a reservation on Naver beforehand! Even though it was a weekday evening, the place was almost full. If I hadn't reserved, I probably would've had to wait — I'd recommend booking ahead if you're planning to visit!
The interior has a hanok (traditional Korean house) feel styled like a butcher shop, decorated with an overall upscale touch, so the atmosphere was pretty nice! There's a private room in the back too, good for a more private meal, and I actually saw a lot of guests there for group dinners.

There's also a baby chair ready on one side, so it's good for family visits too. If you're looking for a Seomyeon dinner spot or a Jeonpo group BBQ restaurant, this seems like a great choice ⭐️
Menu lineup and set sizes: 500g, 700g, 900g

📌 The set menu is made up of pork belly, nuruk pork neck, and special cuts, sold in 500g, 700g, and 900g, so it's easy to order according to your party size. Besides the sets, you can also order à la carte — everything from two-plus grade hanwoo (Korean beef) sirloin, hanwoo yukhoe (beef tartare), to honeycomb tripe. ✔️ And of course there are meal menus to finish off the meat: doenjang soup, perilla oil noodles, buckwheat noodles, hot pot rice — plenty to pick according to your taste 🤤

They're currently running a review event too — participate and you get a complimentary Geumjeongsanseong makgeolli (rice wine), which pairs great with the meat. Perfect for a drink while eating meat ❤️
Side dishes and the six sauces
Once you sit down, the basic side dishes are neatly laid out first, and the lineup is quite substantial!
I'm the type who likes eating a variety of side dishes with meat rather than just meat alone, so I loved that the side dish spread here was so generous 🤭 There were plenty of options to pair according to taste!
There were as many as 6 kinds of sauce prepared! Nuruk pickled chili, nuruk ssamjang, wasabi, galchisokjeot (fermented hairtail innards), herring roe jeotgal, and shiitake wasabi — such a variety that even one piece of meat could be enjoyed in many combinations 💛
At first I thought it was scallion salad, but it turned out to be seasoned barley sprouts! The soft texture unique to barley sprouts, seasoned sweet and tangy, went perfectly with the meat. Honestly I liked this more than regular scallion salad, so I kept reaching for it, haha.

And they even serve beef radish soup as a side dish! Amazing right 💕 It was spicy yet refreshing, perfect for a spoonful between bites of meat. Wood ear mushrooms in it too, so the texture was great.
What comes in Set 1 (500g) for two

✔️ We ordered Set 1 at 500g. There were two of us, and the amount of meat was more than enough for the both of us! Since they use premium raw meat, the texture felt distinctly different from the start ✨ It looked great even before we started eating, so our expectations went up right away ><

It's a generous lineup with pork belly, pork neck, and special cuts along with garlic scapes and garlic. Since they have grilling service here, there's no need to grill the meat yourself — you just wait until the staff grills it deliciously for you! You can sit back comfortably and chat while waiting, which is one of the perks of a staff-grilled place.
How the charcoal grilling service works
Meat really tastes best grilled over charcoal 🔥 They use charcoal here too.

One staff member is assigned per table and checks on the meat constantly while grilling it directly! They started with the pork neck, and the thickness was on another level. Cut thick, so the visual was packed with juices 💛
Since an expert grills it themselves, there's no worry about burning, and it came out perfectly juicy, haha. Once grilled, they move the meat to a small grill so you can keep eating it warm, and they even recommend the best combinations to eat each cut with 💛
Honest taste notes: pork neck, pork belly, and mibak hangjeongsal

Doesn't the pork neck look so good 🤤 Really good pork neck isn't dry — it's juicy and soft, right!

I first dipped it in salt and tried it — it was so juicy, not dry at all, soft and delicious ✨ With so many sauces to pair it with, I never got tired of it and kept eating more, haha.
Pairing it with the barley sprout salad and gungchae jangajji (pickled aster stem) really cuts through the meat's richness 👍
While we were eating the pork neck, they grilled the pork belly and the special cut hangjeongsal (pork jowl) one after another and arranged them nicely on the small grill for us. They even grilled aged kimchi alongside, and eating it with the meat was a real treat too ♥️
They say the pork here is carefully selected then goes through both wet and dry aging in a cross-aging process, and maybe that's why the texture was so soft, with distinctly deeper juiciness and flavor!! Even dipped in just wasabi it was amazing ❤️

They grill whole garlic cloves until golden brown! Properly cooked garlic turns fluffy inside — so good.

The pork belly was light yet juicy and delicious, and the mibak hangjeongsal, a cut with the skin still on, had a properly chewy texture! With the nutty flavor unique to hangjeongsal and little pops of fat, this too was truly delicious 🤤
Steamed egg cooked right on the grill
After grilling all the meat, they finish by making steamed egg right on the grill. You can choose between regular steamed egg or a spicy version with chili paste added, depending on your taste!

The steamed egg came out fluffy like a soufflé 💛 Made using the leftover fat from grilling the meat, it had a subtle nutty flavor added, which made it delicious! It was even better than I expected.
Cheese perilla oil makguksu, suhyangmi hot pot rice, and doenjang stew

We also ordered the cheese perilla oil noodles. I love perilla oil noodles so much that I order them without fail whenever they're on the menu — here it's topped with cheese, so the nuttiness of the perilla oil combines with the nuttiness of the cheese for an even richer, more savory flavor 💛

We also ordered the suhyangmi hot pot rice and doenjang soup. The hot pot rice comes out in a 2-person portion, and since it's freshly cooked, the smell of the rice alone is wonderful.
The doenjang soup has freshwater shrimp in it, so the broth carries that distinctive refreshing, savory shrimp flavor! With the natural savoriness of doenjang soup plus the umami of freshwater shrimp, it's completely a rice thief!!

After finishing the hot pot rice, having sungnyung (scorched rice water) at the end really rounds off the meal 🤤💛 The meat was delicious, and everything from the side dishes to the meal menu was so satisfying overall! If you're looking for a Seomyeon meat restaurant to enjoy a relaxed meal, or a place that grills everything for you from start to finish, I'd recommend this staff-grilled Korean BBQ restaurant near Jeonpo 🥰
