Where is Jibduri Dongdaegu Station Branch?
Jibduri Dongdaegu Station Branch (집들이 동대구역점) is a cooking pub in the alley across from Shinsegae Department Store at Dongdaegu Station. I got out of my own neighborhood for once and went on a Dongdaegu Station date with my husband, and the little alleys across from Shinsegae are full of moody restaurants and bars that are weirdly my style. The food is good too, not just the vibe, so I'm recommending it as a date spot and writing this post. Review start~!

Jibduri is in Sincheon-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu :) The concept is a "second home" where anyone can stay comfortably. We came right at opening time and got in without waiting. It might be busy on weekends or at peak hours, so keep that in mind!

What is the atmosphere like inside Jibduri Dongdaegu Station Branch?
The hall feels like a café even though it's a bar. It's definitely a pub, but it gives off a bit of café energy and the mood is lovely. It suits dates, get-togethers with friends, or a light first round, whatever you need from a Daegu bar.

Dimly lit inner seats for a date
If you go further in from the hall, there are inner seats too. The lighting is a bit dimmer, so it has real atmosphere. Totally approved as a Dongdaegu Station bar for dates! It's also great for a simple drink as a second stop after a blind date.
Here's a mirror shot too >< A full-length mirror like this is perfect for a photo with friends, right? haha

Menu and drinks at Jibduri Dongdaegu Station Branch
Another selling point of Jibduri is that it sells a variety of traditional Korean liquor. The snack lineup has a bit of a Korean pub feel, and it seemed to pair well.

The menu has various mains such as sujijeongol (beef sinew hot pot), pasta-tang (pasta in a soup-style broth), and yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), plus sides that are easy to snack on! Beyond traditional liquor, there are plenty of highballs too, so you can drink to your taste.

Complimentary starters: shrimp roe chips and shio kombu cabbage salad
After we ordered, shrimp roe chips and a cabbage salad came out as the starters :) The salad was topped with shio kombu (salted kelp), which made it extra special. It was a good appetite opener.
What we ordered for a light first round
- Korean beef yukhoe/tataki (half and half)
- Fried chicken neck

We stopped at Jibduri just for a quick first round, so I picked things that aren't too heavy haha

What does the half-and-half Korean beef yukhoe/tataki taste like?
The Korean beef yukhoe/tataki (half and half) is the best of the best among the light snacks at Jibduri Dongdaegu Station Branch. If you want to try both yukhoe and tataki, you can get half and half, so that's what we picked.

The half-and-half yukhoe came topped with cheese, chopped scallion and a fresh egg yolk. I was already won over by the plating and look T_T Almost too pretty to eat~

Mix the raw yolk into the yukhoe and take a bite! It's soy sauce-based rather than a heavy gochujang base, so it was easy to eat lightly. The portion was quite generous too.
The tataki looked lightly seared on the outside with a torch, and it really tasted like proper tataki, so charming. If you're looking for a great Dongdaegu Station snack spot, I highly recommend Jibduri haha

It's delicious on its own, but wrapping it with the seaweed, cheese and wasabi served alongside gives you a whole different treat.

With snacks this good, the drinks just flowed~~ Getting out of my neighborhood for a Dongdaegu Station hotspot date put us both in a great mood!

There were so many things I wanted to eat that it was hard to choose. Jibduri Dongdaegu Station Branch is great for a first round, but staying here the whole night wouldn't be bad either haha

Fried chicken neck is perfect with beer
The fried chicken neck is chewy chicken neck meat in a crispy batter. It was the one I picked after much agonizing lol. It would be perfect with beer.

At first glance it looks like fried chicken, and you can feel the crunch. Overall, the portions were generous at this Dongdaegu Station date spot.
The sauce served with it reminded me a bit of sriracha mayo? and it went well with the fried chicken neck. After I have the baby, I'm definitely coming back for another date T_T

Who is Jibduri Dongdaegu Station Branch recommended for?
Jibduri Dongdaegu Station Branch gave us a satisfying, atmospheric Dongdaegu Station pub date in Daegu. I think people who like a moody Korean-pub style will be even happier here. The lineup and flavors are good enough that I want to try other dishes too, so I recommend it.
