I went to Starfield Anseong and stopped by Chat Baker nearby for some good bread and a little rest.
These days there are plenty of pretty cafés, but it's hard to find one where the bread is actually good too. Chat Baker has a wide variety of bakery items and they're tasty. The café is also large and parking was easy, so I think I'll come back.
Chat Baker's location, hours, and parking
Chat Baker is about a 15-minute drive from Starfield Anseong, so it's great to stop by after visiting Starfield. It's especially convenient from Anseong Farm Land, just about a 5-minute drive away, making it a good spot to grab good bread and coffee after spending time there with kids. If you're planning to visit Anseong Farm Land, pairing it with Chat Baker makes for a nice course.

There's more parking further inside the café area too, so you don't need to worry much about finding a spot.
Inside the café — 1st & 2nd floor vibe
Chat Baker is spread across the 1st and 2nd floors. You order at the 1st floor.
The LP-record-shaped rug at the entrance caught my eye. Looks like they won an award from the Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation for the second year in a row. Knowing that made me even more excited👍
1st floor
The water flowing outside the window created such a nice atmosphere.
2nd floor
What stood out was the moon jar display, arranged almost like an art gallery.
By the window on the 2nd floor there are bench seats too, which looked great for laying a baby down.
Up the stairs on the 2nd floor, there's also a microwave and oven available for guests to use.
The bakery & brunch menu lineup
Chat Baker has such a wide variety of bread that it's easy to pick something for whatever you're craving. It was a bit disappointing that a lot of breads were sold out by Sunday afternoon, but there was still plenty from plain, savory breads to sweet desserts, so picking something to go with coffee was fun.
From bread to brunch, the menu range is really wide. As you'd expect from a bakery café, there's a huge variety of bread, but also a solid brunch menu, so it'd be great to come here for a proper meal too. From pasta, risotto, and gnocchi to sweet bingsu (shaved ice dessert), there's so much to choose from!! Great for visiting as a family since everyone can pick something different.
On top of the bread, there are several individually packaged baked snacks that look perfect for enjoying with coffee.
They also sell loaf bread, which was nice for buying some to bring home.
What we ordered — fresh cream Mont Blanc and almond kouign-amann
We sat on the 2nd floor and ordered manycheop croissant (thousand-layer croissant), salt bread, condensed-milk cream salt bread, almond kouign-amann, fresh cream Mont Blanc, a Decaprio, and fresh lemonade.
Maybe because I built up my expectations too much, it just tasted like... a croissant 🤣
The salt bread was good too, but the almond kouign-amann was amazing. Anyone who loves nuts will definitely be into this one🤩
The fresh cream Mont Blanc was the one I really loved! It's packed with fresh cream inside, so every bite is soft and full of sweetness!! Honestly the bread here is insanely good... The bread here is insane!! 😂 You have to try the fresh cream Mont Blanc. I think I'll order it again next time too!🤎
The fresh lemonade was really refreshing. It seemed like they squeezed the lemons themselves. You could see the lemon flesh right through the ice on top of the drink, which made it look even fresher.
Who Chat Baker is for
If you're in Anseong and looking for a place to enjoy good bread and coffee together, I recommend Chat Baker. With so many types of bread, it's fun to pick a few different ones, and it's also a nice place to relax and spend some leisurely time. If you love bread like I do, it's worth stopping by while out and about in Anseong. Next time I'm in Anseong, I'd like to go earlier and try some of the other breads too :)
