Burger Championship runner-up bacon cheeseburger in Jamsil: Daily Fix
In short
Daily Fix Jangmi Sangga is a New York diner–style handmade burger restaurant in the basement of the 40-year-old Jangmi Sangga arcade near Jamsil Station in Songpa, Seoul. Curious about the burger Kang Min-kyung raved about, the writer ordered the bacon cheeseburger (12,900 won) with the 18 Fries and soda water set (+5,900 won) and loved the juicy Hanwoo patty, the not-too-salty house-made bacon and the thick, generous fries. For a Jamsil burger that wins on ingredient quality, Daily Fix Jangmi Sangga is a great choice.

I finally tried the Daily Fix burger that Kang Min-kyung raved about, at Jangmi Sangga! Who knew a place like this was hiding in the 40-year-old Jangmi Sangga arcade in Jamsil... I went because I wanted to taste the burger she praised so highly, and honestly, it was way beyond what I expected.

A New York diner in the Jangmi Sangga basement?
Head down into the basement of Jangmi Sangga and Daily Fix's interior suddenly opens up like a New York diner, which is a fun twist. The retro feel of an old arcade blends naturally with a hip, polished vibe. I thought it might feel awkward at first, but once I walked in and sat down, it just worked.

The tables are nicely spaced and there's a long bar counter too, so it's good for eating solo or coming with a friend.

How is the Korea Burger Championship runner-up burger made?
Daily Fix took a proud 2nd place at the first Korea Burger Championship, so it's a proven handmade burger spot. The 100% Hanwoo (Korean beef) patty is made fresh every morning, and the bacon is house-made from whole pork belly that's cured and grilled in-house. Everything is handmade daily, they say. The burger is described as carrying the know-how of a chef from a New York Michelin-starred restaurant, and I felt right from the first bite that this isn't an exaggeration.

What does the Daily Fix bacon cheeseburger taste like?

The Daily Fix bacon cheeseburger has a perfect balance of a juicy patty, unsalty house-made bacon and cheese. When it arrived at the table, it already looked special. The moment I bit in, juice burst from the patty, and it's clean-tasting with the real flavor of the meat shining through. The house-made bacon isn't salty and has a chewy bite that pairs so well with the patty, and with the cheese on top, the whole thing was perfectly balanced.

This burger wins on the quality of each ingredient, not on punchy sauces. I kept nodding while eating, understanding why Kang Min-kyung praised it so much.
The 18 Fries steal the show

The 18 Fries I ordered as a side are honestly another highlight of Daily Fix. The thick fries come out freshly fried, crispy outside and moist inside, and the portion is huge. With a hearty, tasty patty and fries at this quality, it makes a really filling meal.

A Daily Fix burger I could eat every day
I've had handmade burgers in lots of places, but it's been a while since one satisfied me this much. A juicy, moist patty and crispy, crunchy fries left me completely full. It's the kind of taste that makes you say you could eat it every day.

Final verdict: the handmade burger to try in Jamsil
Daily Fix is a gem I found in the 40-year-old Jangmi Sangga. Walking through the old arcade alleys, I never expected to run into such a hip, delicious handmade burger place. If you're hunting for a great handmade burger in Jamsil, definitely give Daily Fix a visit. Kang Min-kyung's recommendation didn't come out of nowhere.
