I returned to Sin Yeongung Cheonggukjang Haemulttukbaegi Seongseo Moda Outlet branch (신영웅청국장해물뚝배기 성서모다아울렛점), near Moda Outlet in Daegu. Last time, I had the seafood one-pan boil and liked the amount of seafood and its seasoning. This time, I ordered several dishes centered on seafood cheonggukjang stew and cockle bibimbap.

Is it easy to reach from Moda Outlet and park?
The restaurant is on the first floor at 27 Seongseogongdan-ro 15-gil, Dalseo-gu, Daegu. Being near Moda Outlet made it a convenient place to stop for a meal after shopping. If you take the bus, get off at Moda Outlet.
There is space for five cars in front of the restaurant, and a public parking lot is behind it. After parking in the rear, I could enter through the back door, which connects directly to the restaurant.

Are there seats for family meals or group gatherings?
The interior was kept neat, and the staff were kind. Each table had partitions, so I could eat without paying much attention to the surrounding tables.

There were also private rooms. The restaurant says it can accommodate up to 40 people, so I thought it would suit not only family meals but also group gatherings or company dinners.

What did I order, and what side dishes come with the meal?
The restaurant says its signature dishes include seafood cheonggukjang stew, seafood jjim (steamed seafood), and seafood one-pan boil. This time, I ordered seafood cheonggukjang stew and cockle bibimbap with pork cutlet, seafood pajeon (Korean scallion pancake), and fried shrimp.
The basic side dishes were seokbakji (cubed radish kimchi), doenjang peppers, stir-fried fish cake, and salad. I heard they were made in-house, and they tasted clean. I could get more side dishes at the salad bar, and I went back for the doenjang peppers several times because I liked them.

How were the seafood pajeon, fried shrimp, and pork cutlet?
The fried shrimp had large, plump shrimp inside. The outside was crisp and the inside moist, with a pleasant nutty flavor.

The seafood pajeon contained plenty of large pieces of seafood. It came out freshly cooked, and I enjoyed it. The main dishes alone were filling, but I also tried the side dishes.

The pork cutlet was a dish I had on my previous visit as well. It was crisply fried this time too. Although seafood dishes are the focus here, the pork cutlet made me think it would be easier to choose dishes when visiting with children.

What does the seafood cheonggukjang stew taste like, and how much seafood is in it?
The seafood cheonggukjang stew I had contained three large abalone. The seafood flavor added depth and a refreshing quality to the rich, savory cheonggukjang broth.

The restaurant says it contains nine kinds of seafood, including abalone, shrimp, blue crab, mussels, scallops, and pollock. Having plenty of seafood along with the broth made the meal satisfying.

The restaurant says its cheonggukjang is made only with Korean-grown beans, including Daewon beans and Cheongha beans grown in Yeongwol, Gangwon-do. I liked the nutty, savory flavor of the broth.
How was the cockle bibimbap with cheonggukjang?
The Beolgyo cockle bibimbap especially stood out during this meal. Mixing crisp vegetables and springy seasoned cockles with spicy gochujang gave it a savory depth. I could enjoy the rich cheonggukjang alongside the spicy bibimbap.

What drinks can you have after the meal?
After the meal, you can have an Americano, milk coffee, or banana latte. I had the banana latte, which had a gentle sweetness and smooth banana flavor.

This time too, I had a filling meal of cheonggukjang, seafood, and side dishes. With convenient parking, partitioned seating, and private rooms, it is a place I think of again when looking for a family meal near Moda Outlet.
