Myeongdong pork barbecue with staff grilling: Yuk Tongnyeong
In short
Yuk Tongnyeong Myeongdong Main Branch is a pork barbecue restaurant less than five minutes from Myeongdong Station. I visited with my husband, had omija-aged black pork and tojangguk stew, and found the staff grilling convenient and the meat pleasantly chewy and savory.

I stopped by Euljiro 1-ga for an errand, then had dinner with my husband at Yuk Tongnyeong Myeongdong Main Branch (육통령 명동본점). We ordered two servings of omija-aged black pork myeongpum yukgyeopsal and tojangguk stew. I liked the meat’s chewy texture and deep savory flavor. Since the staff grilled it for us, we could eat comfortably after doing a lot of walking.
How far is it from Myeongdong Station, and was there a wait on the weekend?
Yuk Tongnyeong Myeongdong Main Branch is less than a five-minute walk from Exit 5 of Myeongdong Station. We started at Euljiro 1-ga Station and took about 10 minutes while walking through Myeongdong.
There was a short wait on the weekend evening we visited. We could register at Catch Table in front of the restaurant. Myeongdong’s streets were busy, and there were also many foreign guests inside the restaurant.
What was the dining area like?
We ate on the first floor. The interior felt fairly spacious and comfortable. It seemed there was also a second floor, but I did not go up to see it.
What did we order?
Besides the omija-aged black pork, the menu included ribs, naengmyeon, yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), and yukhoe bibimbap. I was curious about the naengmyeon, but we did not order it because we planned to eat more afterward.
We chose two servings of omija-aged black pork myeongpum yukgyeopsal and tojangguk stew.
How did the staff-grilled aged black pork taste?
The staff grilled all the meat for us. It was convenient not having to pay attention to grilling it ourselves. The charcoal-grilled meat had a smoky charcoal aroma, a deep savory flavor, and a pleasantly chewy texture.
How were the side dishes and tojangguk stew?
The side dishes arrived neatly arranged, and a salad was also included. They were good for trying one at a time with the meat. I especially liked wrapping the meat in myeongi namul (sanson greens) or white kimchi.
The tojangguk stew had large pieces of tofu. It was spicy and savory, and its flavor improved as it continued to simmer. I thought it paired well with the meat and would also go nicely with drinks.
What were the hours and overall impression when I visited?
As listed on the original post date, Sep 6, 2026, the hours were daily from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., with last orders at 10:15 p.m. There was also a notice saying that stew was provided as part of a review event.
Although we waited briefly on the weekend evening, it was comfortable to eat meat grilled by the staff. It was a good place to have dinner with my husband after walking around Myeongdong, and I remembered the chewy aged black pork and savory tojangguk stew together.
