Toning down a brightened color into a calmer shade

My before hair does not look great, does it? Haha. I had not been able to take care of it for a while, and the color had become lighter, so I came in to tone it down again.

They prepared a mint-chocolate-colored dye, which immediately made me think of mint choco, and got right to work. You know you can feel a stylist’s skill just by watching them apply color, right? They worked through it smoothly without a hitch.

Color applied in two rounds

To get the hair color just right, they did not finish it in one go; they applied it in two rounds. I think that is why I liked the after result even more. You could say the color soaked in beautifully?

Usually color is applied only once and they just check the shade midway through, so it was unusual to have it done in two rounds.

I took a short break while waiting for the color to develop, then headed to the shampoo room once enough time had passed. After a thorough shampoo, they also gave me a light hair pack treatment. Usually, once your hair is washed, you can get a rough sense of the color, right? Compared with before, it was noticeably darker at a glance—you can really see the difference, can’t you?

I was so happy that the color came out beautifully in one session. They added natural curls while blow-drying, completing the styling. Going to a hair salon is not only about getting your hair done; receiving the service is part of it too, right? The color I wanted came out well and I was treated so nicely that I felt like I should head off somewhere, haha.
