Snug Roastery, easy to find on Cheolsan Station Rodeo Street
We were craving meat on a weekend evening, so I visited Snug Roastery (삼목집 철산본점), a seriously delicious pork spot near Cheolsan Station! There are so many barbecue places around Cheolsan Station, but I left so satisfied that I had to share my honest review ♪
Snug Roastery is close to Exit 2 of Cheolsan Station, right on Cheolsan Rodeo Street! It is right alongside the road, so it was easy to find.

We visited around 5 p.m. on Sunday. I thought it might be a little quiet since it was Sunday evening, but there were lots of people. A great meat place, indeed.. 👍🏻

There was even a charger by the counter next to the entrance, which was sooo convenient haha. I needed to charge urgently, so I was so happy to see it..

Premium pork neck and green onion pork skirt meat for two
We visited with a reservation, and they had set the table in advance and showed us to our seats right away! There was a nice variety of side dishes, including wraps, kimchi, and all kinds of sauces. I especially loved that there was meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) and myeonginamul (pickled garlic leaves) ㅠ

Here is the menu haha. There were two of us, and we wanted a proper meal of rice plus meat, so this is what we ordered!
- Snug premium pork neck, 1 serving (₩16,900)
- Snug pork skirt meat with whole green onion, 1 serving (₩18,900)
- Steamed egg (₩4,000)
- Pork kimchi stew (₩7,000)
- Steamed rice (₩1,000)

After a short wait, they brought over the charcoal haha. The heat was strong, so everything cooked quickly!

Our pretty cuts of meat.. ❤︎ If you just sit back, the staff grill it all for you! It was really comfortable and lovely haha.
The fluffy steamed egg came out quickly too! Steamed egg is always a can't-go-wrong menu item haha.

The pork skirt meat and pickled garlic leaves combination
This pork skirt meat has a whole green onion tucked inside, and honestly, that is such a killer touch..! The rich meat juices soak into the green onion, and it was just so delicious,, I really recommend ordering this whole-green-onion pork skirt meat.

I wrapped some in pickled garlic leaves too~ With so many different accompaniments, we could enjoy the meat deliciously right to the end without getting tired of it.

You can freely help yourself to wraps, kimchi, and vegetables at the self-service bar. I am a total chili pepper and garlic fiend.. haha, so I refilled my plate with tons of them. It was clean, so the hygiene seemed well managed too.

Juicy pork neck with meljeot
Next was the thick-cut pork neck. It was so juicy.. Pork neck can be dry and tough if it is not done well, but this was incredibly tender and clean-tasting, almost like beef..!

They grilled every bit of it without us having to lift a finger.. so you can have such a relaxed meal! Maybe because it was charcoal-grilled, the meat was full of that charcoal aroma.. 👍🏻
Dip it right into the meljeot, which they place on the grill too! Meljeot is such a special treat,, I am a huge fan!! It is surprisingly hard to find a barbecue restaurant with meljeot, so we got very lucky.

We grilled the vegetables nicely and ate them with the meat too haha. I love vegetables as much as meat, so I also liked that you can add grilling vegetables from the menu! If you love vegetables, it would be nice to order some extra!

Kimchi stew to finish our meat meal
The final crowning touch was kimchi stew!! Looking at reviews, it seemed people at Snug Roastery chose kimchi stew more often than doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), so although I usually have soybean paste stew, I ordered the kimchi stew! We ordered it while eating the meat, and taking a spoonful of stew between bites of meat felt like heaven,, The kimchi was deeply fermented, so I kept reaching for the stew haha. It was really packed with ingredients too,, plenty of meat and kimchi. The two of us ate all this and were sooo full haha.

The inside is clean too, and the tables are not squeezed close together, so you can dine comfortably! I sincerely highly recommend Snug Roastery if you are coming to Cheolsan for a group dinner or an evening meat meal!! The staff are kind, and above all, a barbecue place that grills the meat for you is the best.. ❤️
