Restaurant exterior and parking information

It is also quite close to East Busan Lotte Mall and IKEA, so even first-time visitors should have no trouble finding it. It is a nice place to stop for a meal while shopping or running errands nearby. If you are planning an outing around East Busan, I think it is a useful restaurant to keep in mind when looking for pork cutlet. Its easy access also made it seem like a low-stress choice for families.

Antique interior and varied seating

Antique-style restaurant interior

The first thing you notice when you walk in is the antique atmosphere. Unlike the clean, modern restaurants that are so common these days, the space naturally conveys that this is a Western-style restaurant. The wood and classic mood go together beautifully, making me look forward to the food before even having the pork cutlet. If you want to enjoy the ambience as much as the food, this kind of place should suit you.

Interior with single seats and tables for four

There were several seating formats, from seats for one to tables for four. It is set up comfortably for everything from a quick solo meal to a visit with friends. I actually saw families, groups of friends, and couples on dates. Rather than being a place for one particular age group, Deli Donkatsu felt like somewhere anyone could visit comfortably.

Different seating styles inside the restaurant

There are also bar-style seats like these where you can sit down for a meal. They might even feel more comfortable when dining alone. They have a different feel from table seating and are a good option for solo visitors or anyone wanting a quick meal. Personally, I really liked having so many seating choices.

Four-person table seating

Of course, there were also plenty of tables for four. There are seats for groups of three or more, so they look great for a visit with family or friends. Pork cutlet tends to be a menu item with relatively few strong likes or dislikes across ages, so it is easy for a group to come and choose their own dishes. I also tend to check whether a place will be comfortable for a gathering, and it was good on that front too.

A self-service coffee corner after the meal

Self-service coffee corner after meals

There is also a self-service corner on one side of the restaurant. After your meal, you can have coffee for dessert. Since it is complimentary, I did not expect much, but it was tastier than I expected. It was a satisfying way to freshen my palate with a cup of coffee after a filling meal.

The table setting and a classic Western-style spread

Table setting with pepper and menu pad

When you sit down, the basic table setting is ready. Tissues, a menu pad, pepper, and everything else needed for the meal are there. Since many Western-style pork cutlets are nice with pepper, having it on the table felt natural too. Everything was simple, neat, and properly arranged.

Full spread of pork cutlet and spaghetti

Once all the dishes arrived, the table looked wonderfully full. With regular pork cutlet, cheese pork cutlet, and spaghetti, it was a very filling meal. Now, let me introduce each menu item in detail. If you like Western-style dishes, you can compare which one might suit your taste.

Morning rolls and soup appetizer set

First, let’s look at the appetizer set. Basic side dishes come with morning rolls, jam, and soup. It is a combination that is hard to find at pork cutlet places these days, so it really gave me that old-fashioned Western restaurant feeling. I also liked being able to enjoy the bread or soup while waiting for the mains.

Side dishes and soup

The sides are kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and danmuji (pickled yellow radish). I think they used to serve a spicy chili condiment too, but it did not seem to be available now. Still, the kkakdugi and danmuji were enough alongside the pork cutlet. A crisp side dish between bites of a potentially rich meal makes your mouth feel much cleaner.

Western-style pork cutlet restaurant soup

This is the soup that came with the meal. At a glance, it is exactly the kind of soup you picture from a Western-style pork cutlet restaurant. Not many places serve soup like this these days, which made this set feel even more welcome. Starting with warm soup before the pork cutlet makes the whole meal feel even more classically Western-style.

Soup with pepper

I also recommend trying the soup with a light sprinkle of pepper. Its aroma makes the mild soup taste a little more distinct. Rather than adding lots, just a little according to your taste was nice. Small details like this are part of the fun of a Western-style meal.

Morning rolls served with jam

Next are the morning rolls and jam. They are good simply spread with jam, but for a more fun way to eat them, try using them with the pork cutlet. Put pork cutlet and cabbage salad inside a morning roll and you can make a simple pork cutlet burger. The soft bread, crispy cutlet, and cabbage make a nice, different combination.

Regular pork cutlet with familiar Western-style sauce

Deli Donkatsu regular pork cutlet

Let me start with the regular pork cutlet. It is the representative signature menu item that first comes to mind here. If you like Western-style pork cutlet, it is the safest choice. The sauce and basic components work well together, making it satisfying even after multiple visits.

Pork cutlet with cabbage salad and rice

The pork cutlet comes with cabbage salad, macaroni, and rice. This spread definitely feels like textbook Western-style pork cutlet. Rather than serving the cutlet alone, it includes salad and rice, so the plate feels complete. If you like having several things together on one plate, it should be even more satisfying. And the sauce is something you cannot leave out when talking about regular pork cutlet. The cutlet itself matters, of course, but I think the sauce is what determines the flavor of Western-style pork cutlet. Its sweet, familiar style went so well with the cutlet that I kept reaching for more. Western-style pork cutlet sauce really is a flavor people love whenever they have it.

Western-style pork cutlet cut into bite-size pieces

I cut the pork cutlet into bite-size pieces. Overall, I think it is an easy choice that you can enjoy without disappointment. Rather than an intense style that divides opinions, it is familiar and comforting. That is why it felt like a menu item everyone, from children to adults, could enjoy together.

Thick cheese pork cutlet, ordered for the first time

Square-shaped cheese pork cutlet

Next is the cheese pork cutlet. I ordered it for the first time on this visit, and it looked different from the regular pork cutlet from the very start. Instead of the usual round or oval form, it arrived in a square shape, giving it a visibly different look. If you normally order only the basic pork cutlet, trying the cheese version this time could be a nice change.

Thick pork cutlet filled with cheese

The square pork cutlet was quite thick too. Even from the outside, it looked as though it would be generously filled with cheese. Like the regular pork cutlet, it comes with cabbage salad, macaroni, and rice. The shape differs, but the overall plate is similar, so you can choose according to your preference. When I cut it in half, the cheese inside stretched right out. There was plenty of cheese, so it looked appetizing from the start. With each bite, its soft richness gave it a different charm from the regular pork cutlet. If you love cheese, it is a menu item worth comparing with the basic option at Deli Donkatsu.

Cheese Napolitan spaghetti on a hot plate

Next is the Napolitan spaghetti. It is one of the popular spaghetti dishes here, so I ordered it with the pork cutlet. Having spaghetti alongside pork cutlet is also a familiar combination at a Western-style restaurant. Plated together, it made the whole meal feel even more like a classic Western-style spread.

Cheese Napolitan spaghetti on a hot plate

Napolitan usually brings to mind a ketchup-based dish, but this one feels closer to ordinary tomato pasta. With the hot plate and cheese, it would also be fair to think of it as hot-plate cheesy tomato pasta. It is a little different from the familiar Napolitan style, which made trying it fun.

Cheese tomato spaghetti topped with butter

Butter sits on top, adding a subtle richness as you eat. Combined with the bright tomato sauce, it tasted softer and fuller. I also liked that it comes on a hot plate, so you can enjoy it warm. Ordering pasta along with pork cutlet makes the meal even more generous. And there is quite a lot of cheese. When you lift the noodles with a fork, you can see it stretching and stretching.

Napolitan noodles with stretching cheese

The cheese, tomato sauce, and buttery flavor came together better than I expected. Pork cutlet alone is enough, but adding a side dish like this makes the meal feel even more abundant.

A satisfying meal, even after several visits

The appetizing dishes all came together well, so this meal ended satisfyingly too. There is a good range of choices, from basic pork cutlet and cheese pork cutlet to spaghetti. Especially if you love classic Western-style food, I think this is an East Busan restaurant worth visiting at least once. What I liked most was that it is a restaurant where I can return again and again and still leave comfortably satisfied. If you want to properly enjoy the familiar mood of Western-style pork cutlet, sauce, and soup, keep it in mind. It has a charm quite different from clean, modern pork cutlets, and sometimes a classic plate like this is exactly what I crave. When that happens, Deli Donkatsu is a place to remember : )
