Today I came for Bas Burger, a famous burger spot near Samseong Station. The Samseong branch has outdoor tables too, which makes it the perfect spot for this kind of weather — total yajang (outdoor drinking spot) vibes.

Walking in, I noticed a storefront sign advertising a promotion where you can swap your set drink for a beer. Bas Burger tastes less like a mass-produced chain burger and more like an actual dish, so I bet it goes especially well with beer.
Once you go in, there's a kiosk, and for anyone who finds kiosks tricky or just needs help deciding on a menu, you can also order at the counter POS.
Why order the Greed Burger set at Bas Burger?
There were plenty of menu options, but since I came in pretty late and was starving, I ordered the Greed Burger set. The Greed Burger comes with two patties, a fried egg, and bacon, so it's absolutely loaded with protein. I was heading to work out after this meal, so the extra protein was perfect haha.
At other chain burger places the bacon is often so overly dried out that the texture is off-putting and I barely eat it, but Bas Burger's bacon is moist with great texture and flavor.
Inside Bas Burger: seating and tableside tablet ordering
Past the kiosk from the earlier photo, further inside, there are 2-person, solo, and 4-person seats arranged like this. Bas Burger Samseong Station Branch gets packed with office workers at lunchtime, so the seating seemed efficiently laid out.
Another thing I liked: since Bas Burger has such a wide menu and everything is good, deciding what to order at the kiosk or counter can take a while. To prevent that bottleneck, they also have tablets at the tables so you can order right from your seat. When your food is ready, the tablet even sends a notification, which seemed really convenient.
Music playing, a cool breeze blowing — the outdoor seats. A beer, a burger, and fries out here sounds absolutely perfect.
Free french fries and the pepper grinder at Bas Burger
Another big point of pride for Bas Burger: the free potato chips. Snacking on these while waiting for your burger keeps you from getting bored, and takes the edge off your hunger. The Samseong branch in particular keeps this station really well stocked, which makes it look even more appetizing. You can also grind your own pepper straight onto the chips. I think potato chips and pepper are a genuinely great match.
Since I'd ordered the Greed Burger, haha, I grabbed a modest amount and ate them with ketchup while waiting. The ketchup had a smooth texture and tasted great too.
Greed Burger with sweet potato fries: which sauce works best?
The food arrived. I tried Bas Burger's ranch sauce with the sweet potato fries first, and it was really good. The sweet potato fries had that lovely orange, sweet quality, and they paired so well with the ranch that I finished them off quickly. I also love adding Bas Burger's house sauce to the burger itself. Today I tried it with the barbecue sauce too, and the smokiness worked really well.
Such a hefty, filling Greed Burger, haha. The sliced pickles mixed in with the sauce make it even better. When pickles are cut into big chunks, the pickle flavor and texture can be overwhelming and some people don't like that, but this burger's pickles are cut into small pieces with a sweet umami note, so they don't overpower the burger — they actually make it shine more.
If you're going with two people, you absolutely must swap one order of fries for sweet potato fries. It's a sweet-and-salty combo, and if you eat them in a sweet potato-potato-sweet potato-potato rotation, they disappear in no time, haha.
I added a bit more of the Bas Burger sauce. The filling is so hearty you really need to stretch your jaw before diving in. It was a really satisfying meal. If you ever find yourself near Samseong Station, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try~~
