There are so many bars near Sadang Station, but I'd always ended up at the loud, bustling ones. This time I wanted a bit more atmosphere, so I visited Dophan.
Where is Dophan, and its hours, parking and corkage
Dophan is a European casual dining pub on the 2nd floor of a building at 19 Bangbaecheon-ro 6-gil, Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It's open Mon–Thu 17:00 to 1am, Fri 17:00 to 2am, Sat 16:00 to 2am, and Sun 17:00 to midnight. No parking, but corkage is allowed.

If you're taking the subway to Sadang Station, just come out Exit 11 and it's a short walk.
The sign on the 2nd floor stands out, so once you find the right alley it's easy to spot. Dophan DOPEHAN.
Just follow the standing sign on the right side of the building up to the 2nd floor.
Every poster and piece of decor had such good vibes that I walked in with high expectations.
There's usually no time limit for meals, but a notice mentioned that if you're waiting on a reservation, the time limit is 2 hours 30 minutes — worth noting!

Dophan, the Sadang bar even Suzy has visited...!

Inside Dophan: atmosphere and tables for four
Inside, Dophan has that dark, dim-lit European pub feel, with 4-person tables and a bar table. Even though we went in the early evening, a lot of tables were already full.
I usually like dimly lit bars anyway, but the whole space just had so much atmosphere going for it.

Even though it was early evening, plenty of tables were already taken. We got seated at a 4-person table!

I thought if you came as a couple, the bar table would be nice too — and sure enough, a lot of couples were sitting there.
Even the basic table setting looked so clean and put-together.
There's a coat rack on one wall, so it'd be handy for storing your outerwear if you visit in winter.

What we ordered at Dophan, plus the pre-meal bread
There were all kinds of menu options on the menu board, so we ended up picking by looking at photos on Naver. We were hungry, so we chose carefully 😀

They brought out pre-meal bread first, and it was so good! I could've easily eaten five pieces.
While we snacked on the bread and waited, our dishes came out quickly, one after another.

Bisque rose pasta, 22,900 won
1. Bisque Rose Pasta (₩22,900) — house-made sweet shrimp bisque sauce, tomato, fromage blanc cheese

They told us to mix it well before eating. The white topping seemed to be the fromage blanc cheese — it wasn't a flavor I'd tried much before, which made it even more enjoyable. The shrimp were big and plump too, a really satisfying dish!

Gochujang cream gnocchi, 20,900 won
2. Gochujang Cream Gnocchi (₩20,900) — gochujang (fermented chili paste) stir-fried with bacon, creamy potato gnocchi

The name mentions gochujang, and I was hoping for real gochujang flavor — and it delivered! It cut through the richness nicely and paired really well with the potato.

You can portion it out onto small plates, which makes it great for a group ordering a bunch of different dishes to try. The gnocchi itself was so soft yet had a nice bite — delicious.

Truffle salmon cream stew, 25,900 won
3. Truffle Salmon Cream Stew (₩25,900) — Norwegian salmon, black truffle, roasted vegetables, potato

The squid ink bread that came with the stew was crispy yet soft. Dip it in the cream and eat it along with the salmon, potato, and vegetables!
The potato and cream went so well together — if you love creamy dishes, this one is a must.

The pickles had a clean, refreshing flavor that paired well with the Western dishes — I kept reaching for them throughout the meal.

This photo was taken as we were nearly done eating. It was so good we cleaned every plate. Every dish had its own distinct character and was genuinely delicious across the board — such a satisfying meal.
