Seocho beer bar with pepperoni pizza and BBQ: Weizenhaus
In short
Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1 is a beer bar in Seocho, Seoul, right outside Sadang Station Exit 11. On a weekday evening, I had a 19.0 pepperoni pizza, 24.0 assorted barbecue platter, 6.3 Golden Ale, and 6.5 Budweiser Zero. Verdict: a place I’d happily revisit for pizza, beer, and plenty of bar food.

Right outside Sadang Station Exit 11
Today I’m introducing Weizenhaus Bangbae Branch 1 (바이젠하우스 방배1호점), a bar near Sadang Station. It is open every evening, making it a great place to grab a drink after work, and reservations are available through Naver. I came out of Exit 11 and it was right there. Such great access! 👍🏻
Just a heads-up: it will be closed September 24–25 for the Chuseok holiday :)
The WEIZEN HOUSE entrance and basement bar

This is the exterior of Weizenhaus near Sadang. Go in through the entrance marked WEIZEN HOUSE and head downstairs.
A cool, hideout-like split-level atmosphere

The second I walked in, I loved the cool, hideout-like mood—it felt like I’d found a great Sadang Station spot this time! It is also known for wood-fired pizza, and you can see the huge oven straight ahead in the photo.

There were loads of seats extending deep into the first floor, and the atmosphere was great for groups, so I could see why people come here for get-togethers and work dinners. Personally, it also looked like a nice place for a first date or a pre-wedding meeting :) Since it is split-level, going upstairs gives you another space with a different feel. There is also a separate smoking room inside.

The restroom was also inside the bar and kept clean, so it was convenient to use.
From wood-fired pizza to lots of bar food and drinks
Here is the menu at Weizenhaus near Sadang. There were so many items that it was hard to fit them all into photos, so I filmed a video instead. As I’ll show below, the pizza was seriously so good, so I definitely recommend one of the pizzas. They also sell fresh craft beer, so I recommend pairing it with a beer!
They also had an incredibly wide range of food: tacos, Schweinshaxe, assorted barbecue platters, fish and chips, cheese platters, chicken, buffalo wings, fries, churros, nachos, shrimp crackers, pasta, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), squid, dried pollack, and more. For drinks, there were soju, highballs, and wine too, so you can choose whatever suits your taste.

Even the complimentary shrimp crackers were such a nice snack with drinks ☺️

Small plates, napkins, wet wipes, and forks were conveniently available at the self-service station.
The pizza and barbecue platter I ordered

I ordered the Pepperoni Pizza (19.0) and Assorted Barbecue Platter (24.0). Let me introduce them one by one below!

And the beers I ordered alongside them! On the left is Golden Ale (6.3), and on the right is Budweiser Zero non-alcoholic beer (6.5). Golden Ale was described as an ale with a smooth, fresh citrus aroma, and it was 4.5% ABV. I’m a lightweight, so I ordered the non-alcoholic one, but it had a good beer taste and went down nicely—perfect for getting that cheers-together feeling!

Pepperoni pizza you want to eat the second it arrives
First, the Pepperoni Pizza is something I really, really want to recommend. It is simply topped with pepperoni, but the moment you taste it, your eyes go wide 😳 I’ve had pepperoni pizza at plenty of places, but this one was good enough to rank among the best!

I don’t know whether you can tell from the photo, but it was loaded with cheese, and the soft, savory richness was insane‼️ To really enjoy that freshly made, stretchy cheese, I recommend digging in as soon as it comes out.

An assorted barbecue platter with a little of everything
Next was the Assorted Barbecue Platter, which was great because I could try a good variety of sausage, chicken, barbecue, and more.

It came with two kinds of barbecue sauce and cabbage pickles as well, which made for great pairings.

This meat looked a little like pork neck, and it was deeply infused with smoky flavor, with the salty, savory deliciousness of bacon. It was tasty on its own and went well with the sauce too.

This seemed like smoked pork belly? It was lovely and moist. It felt like eating incredibly tender bacon.

And the sausage—what more is there to say? From its snappy texture to its flavor, it was great.

The chicken was crisp outside and juicy inside—the juices were amazing. It was so tender and delicious. Every item I ordered this time was just perfect with beer.
The food I had this time was all so delicious, and the atmosphere was so good that I want to come back. Next time, I’d like to try the tacos, fish and chips, and wood-fired chicken too :)
