Meat I never get tired of, no matter how much I eat — you gotta keep the protein coming regularly, right? I heard there was a restaurant near Deungchon Station doing cauldron-lid minari (water celery) pork belly really well, so I dragged my friend who works near Deungchon Station along haha. I LOVE cauldron-lid pork belly so much...☆★ Let's get into this Deungchon Station restaurant review of Ggupdda
Where is Ggupdda, and what are its hours and parking?
Ggupdda is at 11 Mokdongjungang-buk-ro7ga-gil, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, a Korean BBQ place very close to Deungchon Station. It's open daily from 16:00 to 23:00, closed on major holidays.

Ggupdda doesn't have its own parking lot! But the public lot right next door is only ₩100 an hour, super cheap, so you can use that without worrying haha. It's also very close to the station, so taking public transit works great too.

Such a clean exterior. Maybe because the weather's gotten cooler, they had the door wide open. Sitting at a window seat feels like an outdoor tent dining vibe! I walked in hoping they'd seat me by the window haha

Ggupdda's window seats and tables for a group dinner
The owner must have read my mind, because we got seated right at the window! They had everything from round tables to square tables, and it looked like a great spot for a company dinner or group gathering!

Ordering for two: minari pork belly and pork jowl platter, 600g for 36,000 won
Such a nice cool breeze~ There were two of us, and we ordered the minari pork belly & pork jowl platter (600g) for ₩36,000! That price for 600g is really good value. And get this — even the makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles) is only ₩6,000. Is that even possible with prices these days?

Good quality meat, brought out right away! That deep red color is just gorgeous, isn't it 🥹

Included sides at Ggupdda: tteokbokki, wrap vegetables, bean sprouts, extra minari 3,000 won
These are the basic side dishes provided at Ggupdda near Deungchon Station. Clean and no-frills.

Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), lettuce wraps, pickled onions, bean sprouts! And fresh minari to top the meat once it's all grilled — that costs an extra ₩3,000. Oh, the tteokbokki was so chewy and sweet, totally my type, I ate two plates lol

The sauces that came with it. Salt, wasabi, ssamjang (thick dipping sauce), garlic mayo. The garlic mayo was surprisingly addictive, I kept dipping into it.

Duroc pork belly grilled on the cauldron lid with kimchi and bean sprouts
Apparently the pork belly at Ggupdda near Deungchon Station is duroc pork. They say it's a breed known for excellent meat quality even among imported varieties!

Beautifully cut, cut, cut~ Such lovely-colored pork belly. The color's so fresh, and it's on the thicker side too. When you grill it with kimchi and bean sprouts, you all know that flavor, right? The combination of the fat rendering from the meat with the bean sprouts and kimchi — I don't even need to explain, you already know. Crunchy bean sprouts and juicy pork belly. Ggupdda near Deungchon Station,, even more mouth-watering on video, sizzling away

How does the minari pork belly taste dipped in meljeot?
Once the meat's fully cooked, they top it with a generous pile of minari. I dipped it deep into the fermented anchovy sauce for a bite — no gamey smell, tender, and delicious. That anchovy sauce umami hits, mmm~ Loading up on minari and eating it together, the fragrant minari aroma with the meat is the best combo,, and it goes well with the garlic mayo, ssamjang, salt, wasabi too, whichever

and it pairs well with the sauces too

They also bring out doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). Once the meat starts feeling a bit rich, a spoonful of this is the best. It's loaded with tofu and onions, so I kept going back for more, and more. I'm sort of on a diet (?) so I held back on rice, but ladling this over a bowl of white rice would be pure happiness.

Pork jowl to finish: is Ggupdda a good group dinner spot near Deungchon Station?
The pork jowl was springy and chewy in just the way that hits my sweet spot. Make sure to order the pork jowl too when you visit Ggupdda near Deungchon Station haha. I finished every last bit of minari, not a scrap left. That magic of being full but still picking at food. And somehow, even though I supposedly quit drinking a long time ago, that green bottle started calling my name,,,,,, and I ended up drinking it anyway ☆★ For a Deungchon Station office dinner spot or a good-value Korean BBQ restaurant, Ggupdda near Deungchon Station is just right
