Repeat visit, four-cut gopchang platter for two in Mokdong: Omokgyo
In short
Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch is a gopchang (grilled beef intestine) restaurant in Yangcheon, Seoul, a 3-minute walk from Exit 1 of Omokgyo Station. On a second visit, two diners shared two servings of the mixed gopchang platter and worked through gopchang, daechang, makchang and yeomtong (heart), with the spicy sundubu-jjigae and crunchy scallion kimchi that come free cutting the richness. For anyone who wants to try several cuts in one sitting, the mixed platter at Omokgyo Gopchang is the place to start.

If you like gopchang (grilled beef intestine), Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch is worth a visit ♥ Actually this wasn't my first time here — I already tried it once, loved it, and this is my "go-back-to" place, haha.

Where is Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch, and how far from Omokgyo Station?
Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch is about a 3-minute walk from Exit 1 of Omokgyo Station, so it's convenient to reach by public transport. It's on the 1st floor of 226-13 Mokdongdong-ro, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, South Korea, close to the Hyundai Department Store Mokdong branch — a decent spot for dinner after shopping or on a date nearby.
Not many places I try once and think are good enough to revisit end up as an actual repeat visit, but this one comes to mind whenever I crave gopchang. This time we came as two and ordered two servings of mixed gopchang!

The signage on the table showed several review events running — Naver receipt reviews, Google reviews, and more. If you visit, it's worth checking after you order.

The free sundubu-jjigae that simmers at your table
What I liked about Omokgyo Gopchang is what they give you before the main gopchang even arrives. In particular, a spicy sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew) comes free ♥ It's the kind you simmer bubbling on the table, and having hot broth before the gopchang arrives is really nice.
It's got soft tofu in it and the broth is spicy and sharp, perfect for a spoonful whenever the gopchang starts feeling a bit too greasy, haha. I liked that this comes as a default without having to order a separate stew. Having hot broth on hand while eating gopchang really does make a difference.
What's on the menu at Omokgyo Gopchang
Menu

I looked through the menu, and true to a gopchang specialty restaurant, there was mixed gopchang, grilled gopchang, grilled daechang, and various other grilled dishes. There are set menus sized for different party numbers, plus a good range of side dishes and drinks to go with the gopchang — good whether you're coming as two or with a bigger group.
Since we already had a good memory from our last visit, we didn't overthink it this time and ordered two servings of mixed gopchang straight away, haha. Getting to try several cuts at once is the real advantage of the mixed platter! Rather than eating just gopchang the whole time, being able to alternate between daechang, makchang, and yeomtong made for a great combo for two people.
On one side of the menu was a detailed guide on how to enjoy Omokgyo Gopchang — what order to eat things in, what to pair with what. That's often confusing on a first visit, so having it written out was helpful to follow along.
Scallion kimchi and the other side dishes
Basic side dishes

One thing that stood out on the menu was the scallion kimchi! At Omokgyo Gopchang you get crunchy scallion kimchi to eat alongside the gopchang, and the combo with the rich, greasy, savory gopchang worked really well. Take a bite of gopchang, follow it with the scallion kimchi, and your palate resets — which just makes you reach for more gopchang, haha.
Two servings of mixed gopchang for two: how each cut tasted

Ordering the mixed platter means you're not stuck eating just one cut — you get to work through gopchang, daechang, makchang, yeomtong and more evenly, which is great if, like me, you like trying a bit of everything.
At a gopchang restaurant, it's not enough for just the gopchang to be good — you want to want to come back only if the daechang and yeomtong are solid too, and this place delivered again, being the repeat spot it is, haha. Honestly, watching it all sizzle away on the grill is basically cheating...

The gopchang was savory and got better the more you chewed, and the daechang had that distinct rich, fatty savoriness — alternating between the two, the two servings disappeared fast. The yeomtong cooked faster than the other cuts, so it was good to pick off early on.

Why Omokgyo Gopchang is a restaurant worth going back to
The reason I count this as a repeat place isn't that one particular dish is amazing — it's that it delivers on all the things you want when you go out for gopchang.
The mixed gopchang, letting you try a range of cuts, was delicious, and the pairing with the scallion kimchi and the basic stew worked so well that I never got tired of eating. If you're visiting as two, I'd recommend starting with two servings of mixed gopchang like we did ♥ I'd already been once before, and this time I came back — repeat visit confirmed, haha.

If you're ever craving gopchang near Omokgyo, or looking for a good grilled-meat restaurant in Mokdong, this place is worth a try.

If you want to try several kinds of gopchang at once, start with the mixed platter. After finishing our meal, I was glad I came back again ♥ Next time I'm craving gopchang, I'll probably visit again, haha.
