Taco Dot Mangwon Market Main Branch is a taco restaurant in Mangwon-dong, Mapo, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Mangwon Station Exit 2. A couple arrived at the 11:30 weekend opening with a Naver reservation and ordered a fish taco, a Nashville hot chicken taco, a pulled pork taco, a pulled pork chimichanga and a cola for 53,400 won in total. Taco Dot's tacos are big enough that two fill you up, and the fish taco was the best of the lot.

The writer and her husband ordered the smoked gyukatsu set and the smoked yakiniku set (21,000 won each), grilled the beef on personal grills and finished with ochazuke (rice in broth) made from the self-serve bar broths. The verdict: pick Gyudo's gyukatsu for chew and the yakiniku for melt-in-your-mouth tenderness.

Late-pregnancy after-work claypot rice in Sanbon: Dongyang Sotbap

Dongyang Sotbap Sanbon (동양솥밥 산본점) is a Korean restaurant specializing in sotbap (rice cooked in an individual pot), on the 2nd floor of Baegun Building near Exit 3 of Sanbon Station in Gunpo, Gyeonggi. A couple nearing the last month of pregnancy stopped in after work for buta hangjeong (pork jowl) claypot rice, aged kimchi pork belly claypot rice, honey guobaorou (sweet-and-sour fried pork) and Dongyang pork cutlet, paying 37,600 won in total, and enjoyed the neat set meal, the nurungji (scorched rice) served separately and the pleasantly spicy seasoning. Dongyang Sotbap Sanbon is a good pick near Sanbon Station on days when you want a proper Korean meal.

Siheung rice-paper wrap buffet lunch for 3 at ₩56,700: Pyeonbaek

Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch is an all-you-can-eat restaurant on the 3rd floor of Janggok Edu Tower in Janggok-dong, Siheung, serving cypress-steamed dishes, rice-paper wraps and shabu-shabu. With its savory doenjang chicken broth and fresh self-serve ingredients, Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch made for a satisfying family meal.

Arriving at 12:30pm on a weekend, the blogger found the Patata and Melanzane sandwiches and the Margherita and Genovese sandwich pizzas still available and took all four away for ₩28,000. Daily Fix Seoul National University Entrance is a hanwoo (Korean beef) patty burger joint on Gwanak-ro in Gwanak, Seoul, near Exit 2 of Seoul National University Station. On an early weekend evening, the writer and her husband had a bacon cheese burger, a double cheese burger, chili cheese fries and a Coke Zero for 41,600 won, and learned by mistake that only the Daewoo Dio Superium Complex 1 lot gives 30 minutes of free parking. Both burgers at Daily Fix were so satisfying that her husband said they should start touring Kang Min-kyung's favorite restaurants.
