How is parking at Dongbaek Hanokjip?

I had a reason to be in Giheung, so I visited Dongbaek Hanokjip Charcoal Grill Butcher Restaurant. Great value on meat, and a butcher restaurant with no table setup fee — it was somewhere I really wanted to try. There's a big private parking lot too, which was a huge plus for us since we drove!
A dining hall built for family and group gatherings

The interior looked even more spacious, and the hall, with group seating for up to 140, felt comfortably roomy. We sat at a window table, and the staff kindly lowered the blinds for us! We set our things down and went to pick out our meat.
Picking your own Korean pork and hanwoo beef at the butcher counter

At Dongbaek Hanokjip, you pick out your own pre-packaged meat, scan the barcode at the counter, then enjoy other food (drinks, alcohol, meal menu, etc.) and pay all at once. This was so convenient!

The fridge had a variety of Korean pork and Korean beef. The bright red color made everything look fresh. Some cuts were discounted, so they were even cheaper.

Here's the meat we picked. The Korean pork was a good thickness for grilling over charcoal, and the cuts and condition were so good we didn't hesitate. Especially the pork neck — around 290g for ₩17,300, how could we not pick it!
After scanning the barcode, you also grab your own drinks. We brought back two cups and Zero Coke, then ordered extra food via the tableside ordering system.
What the couple ordered and what it cost
- Pork belly ₩27,360
- Pork neck ₩17,370
- Doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) ₩7,000
- Rice ₩1,000 × 2
- Zero Coke ₩2,000 × 2
This is what we ordered this time. I considered naengmyeon (cold noodles), but the meat looked so good I wanted to eat it with plain white rice instead. Also, if you want marinated galbi, you can order it via the tableside ordering system!

Side dishes that come with no table setup fee
Dongbaek Hanokjip is a butcher restaurant with no separate table setup fee, and once we brought our meat over, the basic side dishes were already quickly set out. It's a spread as generous as a galbi restaurant's — lettuce wraps, salad, seasoned bean sprouts, macaroni salad, white kimchi, crunchy cucumber pickles, pickled radish for wraps, sliced onion, wasabi, ssamjang (dipping sauce), kimchi, cheongyang pepper, and green onion. The seasoned bean sprouts and macaroni salad were so good!

You could grab as much extra side dish refill as you wanted from the refill corner. It was so nice to see how clean and well-kept it stayed.
Pork belly grilled over high-heat charcoal
Opening up the meat, why does it look even better quality!? We started grilling the pork belly first. The ventilation sucked up the smoke really well too! The charcoal had such strong heat that grilling time was short.

Looks delicious just from the photo, right? The thickness was just right for grilling — best eaten together with rice..

First bite was just rice, wasabi, and meat, then after that we mixed in wraps and side dishes. The green onion, grilled a long time, was fragrant and made for a great finish!
Doenjang stew made richer with ground pork
When we started eating the pork belly, the doenjang stew (₩7,000) came out, packed with plenty of ground pork, making the broth really rich. It was also full of tofu and vegetables, so definitely order it with rice!

How was the 290g pork neck?
After the pork belly, we grilled the pork neck too. The ratio of fat to lean meat was just right, and it looked so tasty.

My boyfriend really knows how to grill meat.. the pork neck was so tender we finished it all. The grill plate was great too!
Great value and a big parking lot made for a relaxed meal at Dongbaek Hanokjip Charcoal Grill Butcher Restaurant. If you're looking for a good BBQ restaurant in Yongin, I'd recommend it for family gatherings or get-togethers with friends!
