Kiosk ordering and group tables at Seo Jubang, a Sokcho bar
In short
Seo Jubang is a Korean dish-and-drink bar with group tables on the pojangmacha (street food bar) strip in Yeongnang-dong, Sokcho, Gangwon. Walking in right at the 6pm opening, the writer ordered at the table kiosk and chose the Sokcho drinking set (53,000 won for 2–3 people) with whole tofu duruchigi (spicy stir-fried tofu) as the main, which arrived with baeksundae (boiled pork intestine), hoe-muchim (spicy raw fish salad), golbaengi (sea snails), potato-and-pollack, and pickled tomato, plus a bowl of rice and a corn cheese kimchi pancake on the side. With a tidy dining room and clean bathrooms, Seo Jubang is an easy recommendation for a group dinner in Sokcho.

I went to Seo Jubang, a spot on Sokcho's pojangmacha (street tent bar) street that's known for having group seating. We got a seriously generous drinking set, and the space itself was so clean and lovely — here's my review.

Location, parking, and hours at Seo Jubang
Seo Jubang, the Sokcho pojangmacha street spot with group seating, doesn't have its own parking lot — you just park somewhere near the restaurant.

Red Rock draft beer on tap, and a generous drinking set for 2–3 people for ₩53,000?! Honestly amazing.
6pm opening run and kiosk ordering
We walked in right when they opened at 18:00, and the place itself was so clean, you guys.

On top of having a nice atmosphere, every table had its own kiosk, so ordering right away was really convenient.

I ordered the Sokcho drinking set.

You get to pick the main dish for the drinking set, and I went with the spicy whole tofu duruchigi (stir-fry).

They also had mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), a Sokcho bar classic, and even French toast on the menu,

and a wide range of drinks, even wine!!
After ordering, they brought out savory barley tea — it was so good it got me excited for the food.

They also gave us some snacks to nibble on,
and while we were happily crunching through the crispy seaweed crackers, before long

What's in the ₩53,000 Sokcho drinking set
the drinking set arrived. Along with the whole tofu duruchigi, it came with baeksundae (boiled pork intestine), hoe-muchim (spicy raw fish salad), chunky golbaengi (sea snails), potato with pollack roe, and pickled tomato — quite the spread —

and the whole tofu duruchigi looked gorgeous, and it was genuinely delicious.
Simmering away, it worked as both a drinking snack and a rice side dish — two birds, one stone.

The baeksundae was great with a bit of salted squid on top — salty and savory in a way that makes you want to drink.

The hoe-muchim, packed with vegetables, had such good flavor too.
The pickled tomato was a nice palate cleanser between bites, and potato with pollack roe — I don't even need to say how that combo tastes, right?
It came out warm,
and they peeled it for us right there. Dipped in the chogochujang (vinegar chili sauce) with a bit of mayo on top — oh my, how could it be this good, the chewy texture was really great.

Whole tofu duruchigi and rice
The whole tofu duruchigi had a ton of meat in it, plus spicy cheongyang chili peppers, so it was spicy and clean-tasting at the same time — a really good pairing for drinks.

The broth was thick and spicy and just fantastic.

With kimchi, tender meat, and a slice of cheongyang chili on top, it was really tasty.

The soft tofu was good on its own, but topped with kimchi and a piece of cheongyang chili, it was even better!!

In the end I couldn't resist and ordered a bowl of rice — spoon up some rice, pile the duruchigi on top, and it's absolutely amazing.
Mixing it all together is also really good.

Add the salted squid that came with the baeksundae, and you'll clear the whole bowl in no time.

The corn cheese kimchi pancake we ordered extra
Even with the full drinking set, the food was so good we ended up ordering the corn cheese kimchi pancake too. You can tell just by looking how crispy it is, right? They packed in plenty of corn cheese — you could see sweet kernels of corn peeking out.
The outside was crispy, which made for a great texture, and the soft corn mayo inside seemed to mellow out the spiciness of the kimchi.

Why I'd recommend this for a group dinner
Seo Jubang, the Sokcho pojangmacha street spot with group seating, gives you a drinking set that's plenty filling on its own. Their best menu item, the corn mayo kimchi pancake, was made in an upscale way too — crispy outside with generous corn mayo, making it a perfect drinking snack.
Most of all, the space itself is clean and the bathrooms are spotless!! For anyone who needs a spot for a group dinner, this is a Sokcho restaurant I'd recommend without hesitation!
