I stopped by Lotte Department Store's Gwangbok branch and wanted a quick lunch, so I tried this handmade burger place in Nampo, Downtowner 😍 Downtowner is a famous brand in Seoul, and the Busan Gwangbok branch is its only store in Busan. This is my story of Downtowner Busan Lotte Gwangbok, with its thick, juicy patties and soft buns.

It's on basement 1 of Lotte Gwangbok, on the way to Lotte Mart. The vibe is sleek and hip 🎶🎶 I had Downtowner in Seoul before I got married, and the memory of how mind-blowing it was came flooding back.

What are the Downtowner menu and prices like?

The menu prices were cheaper than I expected‼️ Handmade burger places are so expensive these days that Downtowner feels like a bargain 👀 For the set's side, you can pick from three: original fries, onion rings or a cup salad.

What are the seats and atmosphere like at Downtowner Lotte Gwangbok?

There's a good mix of seats from tables for 2 to tables for 4, so it works for a solo meal, a date or a family meal. You order first and then sit down 🫶 There were quite a few families with kids, including us. I love Downtowner's bright blue interior‼️

Unlimited drink refills and the pickle bar

The best part of Downtowner Lotte Gwangbok: order a drink and you get free refills‼️‼️‼️ Eeek!! As a total cola addict, I'm so happy. The self-serve bar also has two kinds of pickles. I think the spicy pickles would go great with a handmade burger.

How does the Double Downtowner Burger taste?

The Double Downtowner Burger is a double, so it has two patties, hehehe 😍😍 It's seriously juicy. I think even the regular one would be plenty filling‼️

It's packed with tomato, cheese, bacon, romaine and onion. With the double patty it tastes even better 👍 The melty cheese plays its part too❣️

The patty is so savory, and I liked that it didn't have that typical American beef smell? Personally I don't like the particular scent of the Burger King Whopper patty, but Downtowner doesn't have it, which I love, haha. One bite and you can tell the patty has a high beef content. It tastes savory, hefty and rich.

What does the Downtowner Avocado Burger taste like?

The Avocado Burger is Downtowner's bestseller. Creamy avocado with the savory patty is a great combo, and it feels a bit lighter?! Even my husband, who doesn't like avocado, said it was fine, haha.

They don't skimp on the avocado‼️ Above all, the avocado is really fresh. With avocado, tomato, romaine and cheese, you get a refreshing, fresh charm on top of the hefty patty flavor. Highly recommended for anyone who says they don't like very heavy burgers ✨️

Set fries

Downtowner's fries are plump, crispy and salty, and delicious. Personally I think they beat McDonald's fries, haha. Next time I want to try them with added cheese.
