Where is Yukjjip in Eunpyeong, and what are the hours?

Yukjjip (육쯥) is a Korean BBQ restaurant on floors 1 and 2 of 558 Bulgwangcheon-gil, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, about 126m from Exit 4 of Eungam Station. It is open daily from 12:00 to 24:00, with last order at 23:30.

Today I visited Yukjjip, a Korean BBQ place in Eunpyeong 🔥 Even at night, the sign shouts "Yukjjip" in bright lights, and the name alone already smells like juicy meat haha

How does the waiting list work at Yukjjip?

Next to the entrance there is a waiting device where you register your number and wait comfortably. Cold water is also set out for people waiting 💧

Hydration done before the meat! You won't get thirsty while you wait 😆

Yukjjip also has a notice about priority entry for pregnant guests 🤰 Pregnant customers can go in first, and seeing a kind gesture like this makes me like a restaurant even more 🧡

What side dishes come with Korean BBQ at Yukjjip?

Once you sit down, the table fills up with seasoned bean sprouts, lettuce for wraps, green onion kimchi, white kimchi, doenjang (soybean paste), salted shrimp, garlic and salt 🥬 Next to the grill, meljeot (a salted anchovy dip) was bubbling away.

It's such a generous spread that I was fully battle-ready before the meat even arrived haha

There were also menu posters on the wall for tonggalmaegi (whole pork skirt meat) and dol-minari (wild water dropwort). The minari is an add-on you grill together with the meat, and I'm definitely trying it next time 🌿

What we ordered at Yukjjip

You order on the tablet at the table 📱 We didn't even need to think: the Yukjjip assortment (Yukjjip-modeum) and the yeolmu bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles with young radish kimchi) haha

The tablet also showed lunch set menus, so it looks like a nice place for a lighter lunch too.

How do staff grill the Yukjjip assortment of pork neck and belly?

The Yukjjip assortment comes with thick pork neck and pork belly, plus eggplant and green onion. When the meat arrives, a staff member comes over and grills the pork neck first for you 🙌

The meat is finally here! 🥩 Is this thickness for real...? This meat looks like it's been working out 💪

The pork neck goes on first, and the eggplant and green onion are getting their grill marks right beside it 🔥 I filmed the sizzling sound on video 🎥 Just hearing it makes you want a bowl of rice haha

They cut it into bite-size pieces and finish it golden brown. All I had to do was hold my spoon and wait, a very comfortable customer 😎

How does Yukjjip's pork neck taste?

One bite and the juices were truly alive, bursting in my mouth with every chew! Once it's cooked, they have you move it to your small plate like this 😍

I immediately understood why they named the place Yukjjip (a play on yukjeup, meat juice) haha

Do Yukjjip's yeolmu bibim guksu noodles go well with the pork?

The yeolmu bibim guksu comes with crunchy young radish kimchi topped with plenty of seaweed flakes and sesame seeds. The sweet, sour and spicy sauce doesn't give you one second to feel greasy from the meat 🍜 The look of it alone makes your mouth water.

Mix it well with your chopsticks and the bright red sauce soaks right into the noodles 🌶️

Lift a big bunch of noodles and slurp 😆 The crunch of the young radish kimchi was really great.

What's the best way to eat the pork at Yukjjip?

Dip the pork neck into the bubbling meljeot and the salty savory depth makes it a whole different flavor 😋 Put garlic into the meljeot to cook it too, and it's a winning combo!

Put meat and green onion kimchi on lettuce for a big wrap bite 🥬 And the combo you absolutely have to try: roll the meat up in the yeolmu bibim guksu. It's a fantastic match, like the meat and noodles are asking each other why they didn't meet sooner haha

Are the soft tofu stew and rice at Yukjjip worth adding?

Meat alone felt like not enough, so we added steamed rice and, partway through, an order of soft tofu stew (sundubu-jjigae) 🍚🍲 As a Korean, I say a meal always ends with rice.

Bubbling soft tofu stew at Yukjjip

The bubbling stew was packed with soft, silky tofu, and eating it with rice left me nicely full. Meat, then stew, then meat again... an endless loop begins 😂

Finishing with crispy pork belly at Yukjjip

At the end, the staff grilled the pork belly for us too 🔥 Look at that golden pork belly. This is cheating, seriously...

I enjoyed every bite of the crispy pork belly 😋 My stomach was already at its limit, but my chopsticks had no intention of stopping haha

Is Yukjjip in Eunpyeong worth a return visit?

True to its name, Yukjjip serves meat that bursts with juice, and the staff grill it for you so it's easy to relax and eat 🔥 Please try the combo of yeolmu bibim guksu and meat! I also liked the small considerations like priority entry for pregnant guests and cold water while waiting. If you're craving meat in Eunpyeong, stop by 😊
