Guri wine bar with 7,000-won glass wine and LA galbi rice: Muje

In short

Muje is a wine bar on the second floor of a building in the alleys of Guri Traditional Market in Gyeonggi. Glasses of white or red wine are 7,000 won each, and Muje's LA galbi (marinated short rib) nureunbap (scorched rice) is 26,000 won, with aglio e olio at 13,000 won. Between the dim lighting and the mix of seating, Muje works well for a date in Guri or a quiet conversation over wine.

Muje is a cooking-and-drinks bar tucked away on the 2nd floor of 27-6 Angolro103beon-gil, deep inside Guri Traditional Market. I'd wanted to check out this wine bar since it opened. It's a neighborhood spot in Guri, but the location feels like something you'd stumble on in a Euljiro back alley in Seoul — so first-timers might have a hard time finding it, hence the entrance photos below.

How to find the Muje entrance in the Guri market alley

Muje sits almost carelessly among the old buildings and shops deep inside Guri Traditional Market — the kind of spot that makes you think "wait, is this really it?" But the moment you open the door, a completely different world opens up. It's got that thrill of being secretly invited into a hip hideout.

Is Muje a good wine bar for a date?

The interior at Muje is dim overall, with vintage lighting fixtures creating a cozy, moody atmosphere throughout. The light falls just right, so photos come out well no matter how you shoot them, and it naturally flatters everyone's face — making it a great spot for a date or a blind date.

A date-friendly table setting at Muje

Instead of the usual generic pub in Guri market, this is the place I'd absolutely recommend if you want to enjoy good food and quiet wine in a space with real atmosphere. Thanks to that hidden-alley feel, it works great as a date course, and it's just as good for chatting quietly with friends.

They've got a variety of seating too, from group tables to larger party seating.

Muje's glass wine, white or red, is 7,000 won each. The white wine has a bright acidity and a rich fruity aroma that cleans up the palate nicely. It pairs perfectly with seafood or a light oil pasta.

The red wine isn't too heavy or tannic — it goes down smooth, which makes it a perfect match for the sweet-salty LA galbi (short rib). At a reasonable 7,000 won a glass, you get good quality wine without committing to a whole bottle, great for setting the mood lightly.

What we ordered at Muje

LA galbi nureunbap, 26,000 won

Muje's LA galbi burnt rice is 26,000 won. It's the textbook sweet-and-salty combo everyone loves — tender LA galbi (short rib) paired with rice pressed crispy and nutty on the bottom. The juicy ribs pull apart easily, and the salty-sweet sauce soaks right into the rice, making it delicious even on its own, but the crispy scorched rice on the bottom adds a satisfying crunch that makes every bite fun.

The galbi fried rice is filling enough to be a full meal, and with the spicy-ish aglio e olio pasta too, it works well as either a meal or a drinking snack — I already want to come back.

Aglio e olio pasta at Muje

Aglio e olio, 13,000 won

Muje's aglio e olio is 13,000 won. A subtle garlic aroma spreads through the dish, balanced nicely with the nutty richness of the olive oil and a spicy kick. The noodles are cooked just right — al dente, springy without going mushy — and it cuts through the greasiness that oil pastas can sometimes have, leaving you reaching for more. At 13,000 won, it's a solid, budget-friendly choice.

A hideaway for quiet conversation in Guri

The interior looks effortlessly unfussy, but you can tell the owner's sense of style is behind it, so there's fun in just looking around. It's a good space to focus on a quiet, private conversation.

Unlike the noisy bars of busier downtown areas, this is a calm, intimate space where you can chat quietly with music playing in the background. It's the perfect hideout for sharing a deep conversation over a glass of wine with someone you care about.
