Seating at Muje: window seats and a private group room with sofas

Muje has a variety of seating — group tables and window seats — so it was easy to pick a spot depending on the number of people or the mood.

The window side is nice for relaxed conversation, and there are also seats good for larger groups, making it a solid choice for gatherings with friends or a work dinner.

This private area in the back is a group room with sofa seating! Since I always came with just 2-3 people...

Is there a restroom at Muje? Inside, but unisex

Muje also has a restroom inside the store, so you don't need to step outside during a drinking session — that was nice! Just keep in mind the restroom is unisex 〰️

Still, having a restroom inside the store was convenient while enjoying food and drinks.

What's on the Muje menu, including a long wine list

They have a variety of dishes ready, like white ragu pasta, arugula salad, and beef brisket stir-fried with bean sprouts, plus a really wide selection of wines — wine lovers will probably enjoy this place!

Since we mainly drink soju and beer, we ordered them separately.

Sichuan seafood stir-fried noodles with a hint of mala spice

Muje's Sichuan seafood stir-fried noodles looked a bit different from what I imagined, but tasted great! Perfect drinking snack, and with noodles in it, it felt filling too.

Being Sichuan-style, there was a bit of mala spice to it. I like mala so it was fine for me, but if you're not into it, keep that in mind!

Spicy chicken yurinji: ordered again on our second visit to Muje

The yurinji (crispy fried chicken with tangy-sweet sauce) came out next! Actually, I ordered yurinji on my very first visit to Muje too.

I remembered it tasting great back then, so I ordered it again without hesitation this time! And sure enough, the tangy-sweet sauce paired perfectly with the crispy fried chicken — a great drinking snack.

The meat was tender and juicy, and the batter wasn't too thick so it didn't feel heavy. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside — genuinely delicious! 😋

Why the soupy tteokbokki at Muje was a letdown

Muje's tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes) is a soupy version served with a gas burner! Everything we'd eaten so far was so good that we felt like ordering just a bit more, so we tried this too.

But it ended up being a little less than what we'd hoped for, haha.

Everything else we ordered at Muje was so good it was an overall success, but this extra order of tteokbokki left a bit to be desired 🥲

At first I wondered if the rice cakes were undercooked, but after eating them, they were properly cooked! It's just that the rice cakes themselves were much firmer and chewier than expected, which was a bit disappointing for us since we prefer soft rice cakes, haha.
