Board game café in Nowon, Seoul at ₩3,000 an hour: Hero Board Game

I was trying to figure out where to go on the weekend and wanted a little different kind of date, so I headed to Hero Board Game Cafe Nowon Branch! It's near Nowon Station so it's super accessible, and since you can play all kinds of games indoors, it was the perfect indoor Nowon date spot for this kind of weather ☺️

How to get there from Nowon Station, and what the building looks like

It's located near Nowon Station so it's easy to get to by public transit, and once you check the building exterior for the store location, it's not hard to find at all~ Being so close to Nowon Station also makes it easy to swing by mid-date, and since there are plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, it's great to pair with other stops on your route ☺️

There were so many tables and such a huge variety of board games, which I loved! We started with a beginner-level board game haha. It's the perfect spot for an indoor date in Nowon, so I recommend it~ 😄

At Hero Board Game Cafe Nowon Branch, one of the go-to things to do in Nowon, ordering one drink per person is required! The usage fee is ₩3,000 per hour, and the weekday teen rate is ₩2,000 per hour. We ordered a yuzu tea and a pear & lemon balm tea~! Once your drink is ready, a notice pops up on the tablet~ then you just head to the counter to pick it up~

What is it like on a weekend?

Maybe because it was the weekend, there were quite a few visitors — lots of friend groups and lots of couples on dates too~ It was a great weekend spot to relax and take our time, and even the process of picking a game was oddly fun~ With games we'd never played before, there was fun in reading through the instructions and figuring things out step by step, while familiar games we could just jump right into — nice to pick based on your mood. 😄

Most of all, being able to sit comfortably indoors and focus on the game meant we didn't have to worry about the weather at all for our date. We got so absorbed in the games that time flew by before we knew it. 😆 It'd be great to visit with a group of friends, or to have a light showdown as a couple. If you're looking for a special weekend date or a different kind of indoor activity in Nowon, this place is worth checking out!

You can enjoy games comfortably right at your seat, and since you can look up games or check instructions at each table, even people who don't know much about board games can play without any trouble! What I especially liked was that beyond board games, there's also Nintendo, PlayStation, and arcade machines, so there's no worry about getting bored playing just one thing ☺️

Once you get into playing, time really seems to fly by! It stirs up your competitive spirit too haha, and there's fun in picking out games neither of you has tried before, so it made for a pretty great couple date~ There are so many kinds of board games that I want to try different ones next time!!
