There's so much to do in Hongdae that it's usually where I go whenever I have plans with friends, but this time I found something a bit different — an indoor camping ground where you can literally camp indoors!
The Hongdae indoor spot we visited was ⛺️ TAGE Indoor Camping. After going, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a Hongdae party room too.

What can you do at TAGE Indoor Camping in Hongdae?
You can rent the space, but you can also just buy pork belly right there at the indoor camping ground and grill it on the spot. One serving of pork belly is ₩9,500, so pretty cheap, right? You can also bring takeout or delivery food!
On top of that, karaoke is free, and you can also play board games, Nintendo games, or watch movies via streaming — all included.

How to get to TAGE from Hongik University Station
TAGE Indoor Camping is really close to Hongik University. Head from the main gate of Hongdae toward the club street and you'll spot it right away! TAGE is in the basement of the building. Since it takes up the whole basement, the space inside is huge.

As soon as you step into the camping ground, the atmosphere completely changes from outside. It felt like being in a whole different world.

Tents, group tables and the indoor camping mood at TAGE
This is the vibe at TAGE Indoor Camping. It felt totally different from the Hongdae party rooms I'd been to before. Think of it as divided into zones by table. Apparently the tents scattered around are open for anyone to use. The tables were spaced pretty far apart, so we could enjoy ourselves without feeling cramped.

There's also group seating, so even if you come with a bigger crowd, everyone can enjoy it together! Usually when you go to an outdoor camping ground, you have to do everything yourself from A to Z, which is such a hassle... TAGE Indoor Camping is even easier than glamping lol. Everything's already set up, there's basically nothing you need to prep.

Even though it's indoors, the ceilings are high so it never felt stuffy, and it has that late-night outdoor pojangmacha (street food tent) feel, so I'd recommend it as a date spot too. Even in hot summer, you can still get that cool camping feeling while hanging out. What was even better... no bugs, since it's indoors!!

We settled in here. There was a tent right next to us where you could relax and hang out comfortably haha.

TAGE opening hours and 3-hour time slots
TAGE Indoor Camping is open daily from 11:00 to 23:00. The usage time is split into sessions.
- Session 1: 11:00–14:00
- Session 2: 14:00–17:00
- Session 3: 17:00–19:00
- Session 4: 19:00–23:00
*To avoid congestion when everyone enters at once, entry times differ by 30 minutes per spot. On weekdays you can enter whenever you like. You get 3 hours of use.

Table fees and the TV and Nintendo seats
The table fee is ₩40,000. Some spots give a ₩10,000 discount (the ones without TV). Each table like this has a TV, so you can watch a movie while eating too. Really nice atmosphere.
There are also seats where you can play Nintendo!!

Corkage fee and rules on bringing your own food
Corkage is also available, but bringing in wine or liquor costs ₩15,000 per table (per 4 people)! *Soft drinks are absolutely not allowed, since apparently minors have used cola or cider to mix drinks with alcohol they brought. Just a heads up.

There are also instructions written on the table. If you bring your own food, you only get the seat — nothing else. If you bring your own meat, you'll need to rent a grill plate or buy butane gas to cook it (the burner itself is free). If you're eating delivery food, you have to sort your own trash!

Two servings of fresh pork belly: price and taste
For anyone planning to eat all the meat at TAGE Indoor Camping, I took photos of the menu so you can check what's on offer! We ordered two servings of pork belly.

At ₩9,500 per serving, the price is really cheap — and it's fresh pork belly, not frozen! They said it was fresh pork belly brought in that day. If you want to eat it with lettuce, ssamjang (dipping sauce), and other vegetables, you order the 'fresh pork belly + kimchi + lettuce' set. That was ₩14,500.

Grilling indoors: how bad are the smoke and smell?
They grill it right away lol. Since TAGE Indoor Camping is literally indoors, I figured grilling meat would leave a heavy smell and fill the place with smoke. But guess what...? The smoke cleared quickly, and there wasn't much smell either. I figured the ventilation system must be really well done.

They grill kimchi along with the pork belly too. You've got to grill the kimchi, no question.

With that outdoor-like atmosphere despite being indoors, we really had a stylish, fun time.

The meat quality was solid too. TAGE Indoor Camping was well-managed and comfortable to hang out in. Best of all, since it's indoors, the weather doesn't matter, so it's a good spot to visit anytime. I think it'd also be great as a Hongdae indoor camping ground for a group visit.

Free ramyeon for writing a receipt review
If you leave a receipt review, you get free ramyeon too. You can't skip the meat + ramyeon combo, right? We ate the ramyeon happily right down to the last bite lol.
If you book a seat with a TV, you can eat while watching YouTube or Netflix comfortably alongside your meat. It gave off that outdoor camping feeling even though we were indoors — such a unique Hongdae party room!! This was genuinely a one-of-a-kind party room. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a different kind of experience, a stylish indoor camping spot, or a place for a group dinner or date!
