I wanted to make a special memory and get pretty photos too, but even at a life-four-cut booth my face freezes up haha ㅠㅠ How would I even survive a wedding shoot!! ㅠㅠ We're both (especially me) so stiff in front of a camera that I was worried, but this time we actually got some gorgeous photos! Curious where?!

It's Heukbaekgongan Hapjeong, a self-photo studio near Hapjeong Station in the Hongdae/Hapjeong area! Even without a special anniversary, it's a great spot for couples to casually capture some pretty memories together — highly recommend it as a Hapjeong date course 🖤

What's included at Heukbaekgongan Hapjeong, and how much is it?

The basic package at Heukbaekgongan Hapjeong is 20 minutes of shooting + 15 minutes of selecting, with 2 chosen photos printed at 4x6 size for 4 prints total, plus retouched files and a timelapse video. There's a powder room and lots of props, and the whole visit — shooting, selecting, retouching, and printing — takes about an hour. (Retouching time may vary on weekends and holidays depending on how busy the studio is.)

There are three shoot types: black-and-white (vertical), color (vertical), and Cinema Blue (horizontal upper-body shot).

A lot of people bring their cute dogs along too — apparently pets are welcome for the shoot as long as they wear a manner belt and their owner keeps an eye on them, so it'd be great for a family photo with your dog haha. There's no parking at the studio itself, so you'll need a nearby paid lot, but it's so close to the subway station that I'd strongly recommend coming by public transit!

They said we'd have 20 minutes to shoot freely, so I even prepped pose ideas from Instagram beforehand!! lolololol

How do you get to Heukbaekgongan from Hapjeong Station Exit 3?

It's a walk of only about 4 minutes from Exit 3 of Hapjeong Station! It's also close to Hongdae street, Sangsangmadang, and Gyeongui Line Forest Park, so it's great to take pretty photos and then go grab something delicious to eat or have a café date afterward~~! The space was way bigger and cleaner than I expected!

There's a neatly equipped powder room to get ready in (hair iron, cotton swabs, wet wipes, comb, etc.)

There are also two clean waiting areas like this, so you can get ready and pick your photos privately with your companion — I really loved that haha

We looked at other people's photos outside while waiting for our turn, and then it was time to go in haha

What are the shooting rooms and props like?

This is the space where you shoot Cinema Blue, black-and-white, and color photos~~ It's bigger than I expected! Looks like it could fit 5–6 people. The chairs also come in different heights and styles.

There was also a really wide variety of props — headbands, bouquets, cute sunglasses. They even had a graduation cap! Would be great for college students taking graduation photos too~~

This spot is for vintage-cozy photos! Warm lighting + great vibes haha There's a camera prop and a cake prop here too, so it looked like a great place to come shoot with friends!

How the 20-minute black-and-white couple shoot goes

We did the black-and-white two-person self-shoot! You shoot by watching the camera and screen set up in front of you and pressing the remote button yourself, which was so easy. The biggest perk is that it's just the two of you left in the shooting space, so you don't have to worry about anyone watching and can do totally natural, goofy poses as much as you want!!

The 20-minute shooting time flies by, so I'd recommend thinking of a bunch of poses in advance and pressing the shutter as many times as possible! lol They also thoughtfully set up a timelapse, so our whole shoot session got captured on video too — looking back at it later, it's hilarious and became such a cute memory lol

15 minutes of selecting: how to choose your photos

Once the 20-minute shooting frenzy is over, you get 15 minutes to select the photos you like best!

🤍Tip for picking photos🤍 Pick 1–2 favorites from each pose, then narrow it down tournament-style!!

We paid an extra ₩5,000 and ended up choosing 3 photos total haha

Retouching (10-20 minutes) and printing

After all that careful selecting, the studio owner does professional retouching! Not overdone at all — it keeps our real look while making it natural and lovely 🖤🤍 (Just note that hair can't be retouched!!) The owner was so kind that I felt great the whole time we were talking!

Once retouching is done, they print two copies of each photo at 4x6 size!! They also cleanly send the retouched original files to your phone, and even threw in an adorable mini frame as a free gift — I was so touched!! I put a photo in the frame and set it on my desk at work, and it makes me so happy every time I look at it, seeing my boyfriend's face even at the office haha

Great value, high satisfaction, and lovely vibes all around — Heukbaekgongan Hapjeong is truly a go-to spot in Hongdae for couple self-photos!! I'd genuinely recommend it to anyone who wants to capture natural, pretty memories with a loved one or friends. I'm definitely coming back on my own dime for our next anniversary with a whole new concept to get another great shot!
