Is everyone out there making pretty memories with the people they love? Every couple, whenever an anniversary rolls around, starts wondering and searching "isn't there some special way to mark this one?"
I was planning a memorable, offbeat date to celebrate an anniversary with my boyfriend too, and instead of the usual dinner-then-café routine, a self-studio where we could capture our own natural selves just popped into my head (,,>᎑<,,)
Out of all the studios out there, I went to Heukbaekgongan (흑백공간) in Hapjeong, famous for its mood-crafting skills, and the results exceeded expectations so much that I'm back with a review ❤️

Inside Heukbaekgongan: the mood and the prep area before shooting
The moment we opened the door and stepped in, the whole place was so neatly and stylishly arranged that my mood brightened up right away!
The owner greeted us so warmly and kindly too, and whatever nervousness I had about shooting in an unfamiliar space just melted away like snow (⸝⸝¯ᵕ¯⸝⸝)
On one side of the studio there's a vanity area where you can fix yourself up before shooting,
What props can you use at Heukbaekgongan?
They had a huge variety of props useful for everything — dates, friendship photos, anniversary photos, couple photos, and even graduation or maternity shoots!
From cute headbands to trendy sunglasses and artificial bouquets, the props were good quality, so just browsing them was fun › ̫‹
Cinema Blue Room A, the pick for anniversary couple photos
Heukbaekgongan has rooms in various concepts, and since we wanted photos with a bit more of a special mood, we went with the Cinema Blue concept!
The moment we stepped into the room I let out an involuntary gasp — the subtle yet deep blue tones felt genuinely dreamy and luxurious ✨
A typical white or black-and-white background can feel plain, but the Cinema Blue room definitely had that unmatched, unusual feel you don't see anywhere else — very satisfying.

Stuck on poses? The couple pose guide on the wall
When you actually stand in front of the camera about to hit the shutter, don't you always freeze up over what pose to strike?
They had recommended angles and natural poses that make couples look great posted right on the wall, and it helped a ton while we were shooting ◜◡◝
Thanks to that, we relaxed and laughed while facing each other, made good use of the props too, and kept shooting comfortably! What was especially great was being able to check the results on the monitor mid-shoot — with the Cinema Blue room's signature mood added in, we kept getting shots that looked like scenes straight out of a movie.
What you take home: cinematic poster, printed photo and four-cut
Once the shoot wrapped up, it was final photo selection time (◕‿◕✿). Everything looked good, so picking was really hard.
From the cinematic poster to the printed photo and the four-cut, the package was so thorough, and every single piece turned out beautiful.
Seeing the printed photo in real life, it was instantly a career-best shot! The mood unique to the Cinema room was truly unmatched.
