What is Toridoshi? Yakitori omakase on the 1st floor of Maison de Terrace
I went to Toridoshi last week. It's famous for its yakitori course in Sangnam-dong! It's on the 1st floor of Maison de Terrace, and the exterior is so clean and nice. Incense was wafting from the entrance, so I felt good the moment I walked in.

How to book Toridoshi and what the omakase costs
I booked ahead through Catch Table. The deposit is ₩19,000 per person. The omakase itself is ₩49,000 per person. The food really delivers, so it's excellent value.

As soon as we walked into Toridoshi, all the yakitori skewers we'd be eating that day were set out already. Everything was neatly arranged~!
There looked to be around 10 different kinds of skewers. So many varieties, and they all looked super fresh haha.
Salt, shichimi and wasabi were all set out, plus wet wipes, chopsticks, and even a fork for pulling meat off the skewers.
The Toridoshi omakase course, dish by dish

The food comes out in this order, though sometimes items get swapped depending on what ingredients are available~!

Sake and draft beer prices at Toridoshi
Time to pick drinks too. My boyfriend ordered a sake, and I went with a draft beer! We ended up ordering the Toukou Junmai tokkuri for ₩30,000 and a Suntory draft beer for ₩9,000!

Toridoshi has such a clean vibe. There are a lot of great restaurants in Maison de Terrace, and Toridoshi is one of them. It's a great place to visit for anniversaries or whenever you're craving something delicious.

The sake and draft beer arrived. The Suntory draft was seriously good — so smooth,,,! It tasted just like the beer I had in Japan. The sake tasted like jeongjong (rice wine)!!!!

Now we're all set to eat. Let's start haha.

Course start: edamame, tenderloin and mochiri tofu
The first dish was grilled edamame(?) with shio kombu mixed in. The shio kombu made it even tastier~! These beans were seriously good haha, my boyfriend basically inhaled them!!!

Meanwhile our yakitori was being grilled. Each skewer was grilled with real care.
The tenderloin came out first. It was so soft and moist. Even better with a little wasabi on top.
Then there was mochi ricotta, which had this rich cream-cheese feel. Totally my style. I ate it little by little!

Chicken wings, cartilage and grilled mushroom
My favorite, chicken wings. I don't usually like fried chicken wings, but yakitori-style wings are so good. Full of smoky char flavor, and packed with that distinctive juiciness!

Next up was cartilage. It comes with something like soft bone, and you eat it enjoying the crunchy texture. I passed it over to my boyfriend haha,,,
Then came grilled mushroom! It might be hot, so let it cool a bit before eating. The grilled mushrooms smelled great and were totally my style!!!!

Chicken neck meat and the day's heart skewer
Next was chicken neck/shoulder meat. This was so good I have to recommend it recommend it! I already like this cut normally, but Toridoshi grilled it really well. Totally chewy and moist, so tasty.

The menu said gizzard, but that day it was actually chicken heart. It was grilled with absolutely zero gamey smell. A lot of places have that gamey smell,, but Toridoshi nailed it, nailed it.

Grilled onion, sori resu, thigh meat and skin
I love grilled onion! Nice touch throwing in vegetables in between the meat courses. If we'd just eaten meat the whole time it might have gotten a bit much, but with mushroom and onion mixed in, the food stayed enjoyable the whole way through.
It was labeled sori resu, and when I looked it up, it turns out that refers to a special cut. Apparently it's chicken 'tail' meat.
Diligently grilling away.
Next up was a chicken thigh skewer. It had scallion tucked inside the thigh meat, and the scallion was sweet enough that it paired well with the chicken.
My favorite, chicken skin. The sauce on this was such a highlight! The chewy texture was really good too.

Tsukune and sweet corn tempura
Then came the tsukune. It's so moist and tasty. That sauce was totally my style too. I don't like raw egg, so I skipped the raw egg and just dipped it, and it was still delicious.

I could see rice balls being grilled and got curious what would come of them. Half the fun is anticipating what's coming next.

The sweet corn tempura came out. I'd never had this before, so I was really curious. It's hot, so be careful. Sweet corn never fails — sweet and crispy!
Rice-ball soup instead of the clay-pot rice, then peach sorbet
Ta-da. A soup dish with a grilled rice ball in it came out. The menu said rice pot, but this dish came out in its place. I wasn't really in the mood for rice pot, so this was perfect.

I'd been wanting some soup, so this dish was extremely satisfying. The broth, probably chicken stock, was so clean and good, and the rice was grilled nicely crisp too.
Last came dessert to finish it off! Peach sorbet arrived~! Since yakitori is a bit oily, it was nice to cleanse the palate first with the chicken broth and then again with the peach sorbet. The sorbet was full of peach flavor!

Is Toridoshi worth it? Verdict and visit info
A really delicious meal, done! We left completely full and satisfied. The atmosphere is nice too, so Toridoshi is a great spot for anniversaries or dates. Great menu composition, genuinely tasty food. Highly recommend it as an izakaya in Sangnam-dong, Changwon and a top pick inside Maison de Terrace.
