Seongdong café for Basque cheesecake and decaf: Eojil In
In short
Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch is a bakery café in Seongdong, Seoul, directly in front of Wangsimni Station Exit 6. We tried Basque cheesecake, lemon madeleines, Valrhona chocolate financiers, and two iced Americanos in its spacious two-floor space. 🧀 While looking for a dessert café with all kinds of baked treats, from Basque cheesecake to financiers and madeleines, I found the bakery café Eojil In (어질 인)🥐 The dessert selection looked so varied that I went straight there with a friend🤎

How close is it to Wangsimni Station Exit 6?
Eojil In Bakery
It is right in front of Wangsimni Station Exit 6, so the access was seriously great👍
It was so close that you could practically call it a three-second walk after leaving the exit, so finding it was easy too haha. For anyone looking for a café near Wangsimni Station, it is such a convenient location!
The spacious two-floor space and finding a seat
Inside the café

From the outside, I thought it would be a small café, but once I went in, the space was much bigger than expected, with seating on the second floor too.

I was surprised that it was packed even though I visited on a weekday. I recommend grabbing a seat first before choosing your desserts~

Second floor
The stairs are more nerve-racking than you might expect, so be careful haha.
The second floor had an overall cozy atmosphere, with wood-toned tables and chairs alongside warm lighting. Sunlight came in through the windows, making it nice for a relaxed coffee, and there was even an area with bookshelves that felt comforting. Each seat had a slightly different mood, so it was fun choosing one that suited your taste haha.
What baked treats and cakes are there?
Menu and prices

Then we headed down to choose desserts in earnest, and the moment I saw the bakery display, the happy dilemma began… haha.
There were so many madeleines alone—lemon, vanilla, Earl Grey, chocolate, and more—and several financiers too, from the classic kind to ones with chocolate or cream cheese 🥖🥐

I also spotted classic egg tarts and rich chocolate cake, and honestly wanted to try every single one😋 There were even pretty packaging boxes that totally won over my girly heart! Completely my style🩷🩷

After much deliberation, we chose the Basque cheesecake, lemon madeleine, and Valrhona chocolate financier. For drinks, we ordered an iced Americano and a decaf iced Americano.

Two women visited, ordered three desserts and two drinks—five things in all~~ My friend's boyfriend saw the photo and messaged her, asking, “Did just the two of you go? How many desserts is that?” ^^;; ... Isn't that normal? haha. We both love dessert, and everything looked so good that we simply could not give up even one🥹

How was the Valrhona chocolate financier?
First up, the Valrhona chocolate financier was the one my friend exclaimed was seriously delicious after one biteㅠㅠ It had that rich, nutty flavor unique to financiers, plus a proper chocolate taste🤎

The outside was deeply baked, while the inside was moist and substantial, making it a perfect match for coffee.

The chocolate was not vaguely sweet—it was rich and deep, so I would recommend it to anyone who loves chocolate desserts.

Lemon madeleine and Basque cheesecake
Thanks to the thin lemon glaze on top, the lemon madeleine was sweet with a gentle fresh tang. The lemon flavor was neither too strong nor sour; it spread softly, making it easy to enjoy.

It also refreshed the palate nicely between the substantial cheesecake and chocolate financier.

As for the Basque cheesecake, what more is there to say… haha. The top was golden-baked, and the inside was dense yet smooth.

You can feel the density of the cheese just from the cut surface in the photo, right? >_< Eating it with the rich crumble layer at the bottom made the texture and flavor even fuller, and because it was not overly sweet, I kept reaching for more. Even Eojil In's matchbox and tissues were cute...🤎

Was the decaf Americano satisfying too?
The desserts were delicious, but unexpectedly, I was really happy with the coffee too. When I order decaf at cafés, I often find that the aroma or flavor feels a little lacking, but

Eojil In Bakery's decaf Americano was clean-tasting and good alongside dessert. I hope people who regularly enjoy decaf give it a try too. I thought it was just a place that did desserts well, but there were lots of staff and every one of them was so, so kind👍🩷 It is a great coffee spot too!
With its convenient location right by Wangsimni Station, spacious two-floor space, cozy interior, and varied baked treats and cakes, Eojil In was a Wangsimni Station café I would recommend if you are looking for dessert💛

If you would like to try Basque cheesecake, madeleines, and financiers together at a café near Wangsimni Station, give it a visit. Next time, I am planning to try the egg tart and other kinds of financiers that I missed this time~~ haha.
