Mokdong gopchang restaurant with a 100-won bibim noodle deal: Omokgyo
In short
Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch is a 30-year-old handmade garlic gopchang (grilled beef intestine) and scallion kimchi restaurant on the Omokgyo food street in Yangcheon, Seoul. Walking in without a reservation at 7pm on a weekday, the writer ordered the mixed gopchang platter for two (55,800 won) and fried rice (6,900 won), and confirmed the deal that brings Jumunjin bibim noodles (12,000 won) down to 100 won when you order a grill and a hot pot together. Pre-grilled cuts, a tableside fire show and free side dish refills make Omokgyo Gopchang an easy pick for a company dinner or a family meal.

Hi, I'm Kkangye! Today I'm writing about a place located on Omokgyo food street.
Omokgyo Gopchang
Let's get right into it haha.
Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch hours and parking
Weekdays 16:00–22:40 Weekends 12:10–22:40 Groups/reservations/takeout/delivery/private rental available No parking (Mokdong public parking lot recommended)
Omokgyo Gopchang carries on the mother's recipe from 30 years of tradition, specializing in original handmade garlic gopchang (beef intestine) and handmade scallion kimchi.
We didn't make a reservation and went around 7pm on a weekday, and there was exactly one table left!! The place isn't small either, so having this many people... it really must be a hit spot.

Inside Omokgyo Gopchang: the room and the side dishes
Walking into Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch, you'll see a self-photo booth, a review-of-the-month event (100,000-won meal voucher), various liquors, food service certificates, and amenities like hair ties and wet wipes, all neatly arranged.
We sat at the table furthest inside, and right away we were served spicy soft tofu stew and fresh side dishes as a complimentary basic spread!
The chopsticks were hygienic pre-packaged ones, and even though the whole restaurant is spacious and busy, it felt really clean! The gopchang is served pre-cooked, so I'd recommend ordering it right away.

Menu, daily limits and the 100-won bibim noodle deal
The menu has the signature grilled handmade garlic gopchang and a mixed platter, plus you can pick from beef tripe, beef brisket, and beef short rib. The gopchang hot pot and other cooked dishes all looked so good I had a hard time deciding. There are also set menus.

The handmade garlic gopchang is limited to 30 servings a day, and the gopchang hot pot to 10 servings a day.

If you order grilled gopchang and hot pot together, they'll give you Jumunjin bibim noodles (12,000 won) for just 100 won, wow. There were only two of us so we couldn't manage the hot pot (2–3 servings), but if you come for a company dinner or family outing, I'd really recommend getting it, ㅠㅠ.

Mixed gopchang for two at 55,800 won and which sauce goes with which cut
We ordered the mixed gopchang platter for two (55,800 won) along with soju and drinks.

The menu board even has tips for eating it more deliciously, so it's worth checking out — kind of like a hidden gem combo.
Heart (yeomtong): chive salad and sesame oil sauce Gopchang, makchang, beef stomach honeycomb: spicy sauce and scallion kimchi Garlic gopchang: scallion kimchi and sesame oil sauce Daechang (large intestine): bean sprouts, chives with spicy sauce, shiitake wasabi sauce
Honestly, I think it'd taste great with anything haha. All the side dishes are refillable.
After about 10-15 minutes, the mixed gopchang platter arrived! It came with a fire show and the staff explained each item one by one — so kind!

The chives and scallion kimchi can be eaten as is, but they recommended grilling them, so we grilled a batch and then refilled and had more.
They said it's made in-house with a Namdo-style bibim seasoning, and it really had a crisp texture with a spicy-sweet flavor that was so good!! For the heart, cook until the redness is gone; for the gopchang, cook about 3 more minutes.

How the garlic gopchang, daechang and makchang taste
I was so curious about the handmade garlic gopchang packed with garlic, and as it cooked together with the gopchang, the sweetness and nuttiness of the roasted garlic was incredible!

The daechang was really plump and big, so it felt a bit like filming a mukbang haha. Personally, the makchang was unexpectedly so delicious! It had a chewy texture but was also tender and nutty — so good...

With bean sprouts, onion, chives, scallions and so much to combine, I nearly died happy ㅠㅠ.
The skill of skewering whole scallion and whole gopchang on chopsticks.

Finishing with 6,900-won fried rice and crispy nurungji
Once we'd eaten most of it, we ordered the fried rice (6,900 won) — you can't forget this.
They said it's fried with homegrown chili powder and top-grade Koshihikari rice!

Once the egg is cooked, just mix it in.

We pressed it down a bit and even got some nurungji (scorched rice) out of it. Total food-know-it-all move, you know what I mean.

Don't forget the whole scallion.

The pop of flying fish roe, the nutty flavor of the nurungji, and honestly the fried rice is just delicious on its own. We scraped the bottom of the pan clean and finished off a perfect dinner!
Coupons, review events and practical info for visitors
Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch runs various coupons and events. I brought them along so you can make use of them!

The review-of-the-month event I mentioned earlier runs monthly — one person who writes a thoughtful Naver review is picked to win a 100,000-won meal voucher, and there's also a no-lose roulette event, plus fried rice or grilled cheese as a thank-you for reviews on Naver, Google, Kakao Map, or T Map!
The restroom is located toward the back inside. Omokgyo Gopchang is closed on Chuseok day (the 25th) but open as usual for the rest of the holiday period, so keep that in mind if you're planning a visit.
Omokgyo Gopchang sources the best domestic beef and hanwoo (Korean beef), slaughtered fresh daily, and serves it pre-cooked! I really recommend giving it a try.
