Busan café for a late-night monaka dessert: Suwolgyeonghwa, Songjeong

Today I visited Suwolgyeonghwa's newly launched night stroll (밤마실) hours, which now run late into the evening. It's a place where you can enjoy non-alcoholic cocktail-style drinks and desserts while looking out at the Songjeong night sea.

It's one of Busan's well-known café spots — a café by day, more of a bar vibe by night, where you can pop in for a light drink while taking in the nighttime sea. Quiet and full of atmosphere, it's a great café to visit late at night.

Suwolgyeonghwa night session hours and the basics

Suwolgyeonghwa is located on the 4th floor at 188 Songjeong-jungang-ro 6beon-gil, Haeundae-gu, Busan. Worth noting: the building has no elevator, so you'll need to walk up four flights of stairs.

It's open daily from 11:00 to 23:00, and the night stroll hours run from 19:00 to 23:00.

Where to park at Suwolgyeonghwa in Songjeong

The café sits right in front of Songjeong Beach, so it makes for a nice walk-and-drink route in the evening. There's a piloti parking area on the building's first floor, so driving there isn't a problem — though you should expect double parking to be almost mandatory.

In front of the building there's also the Songjeong Pureun parking lot, which is paid — worth keeping in mind.

I parked in the piloti lot and headed straight up to the 4th floor.

What Suwolgyeonghwa looks like inside at night

Even on the way up the stairs, the stylish interior catches your eye.

I've visited often, and the atmosphere is still just as good.

The interior is done up in a hanok (traditional Korean house) style, so it has a strongly Eastern feel.

During the day it's known for seats where you can see the beach train and ocean view together. At night, a completely different mood unfolds.

During the night stroll hours, the lighting turns soft and dim, giving the space a calm, cozy feel.

Looking out the window at the Songjeong night sea while enjoying the menu, it was easily good enough for a date course.

Night-only menu: Pungwol monaka, Hwa and Geum

Suwolgyeonghwa's night stroll menu is organized with limited items by day of the week. Monday through Sunday each has its own concept of dessert and drink.

I ordered and tried Pungwol along with Hwa and Geum.

Pungwol is a monaka (wafer-sandwich) dessert with four flavors resembling wind and moon, priced at ₩8,500.

Hwa is an iced tea with hibiscus, lemon myrtle, apple, and mango for ₩8,500. Geum is a drink blending matcha, kumquat, pine needle, and soda, also ₩8,500.

In the evening, the window seats were much more relaxed and easy to get, which I loved.

During the day, it's a bit of a seat-grabbing competition.

For dessert, the four kinds of Pungwol monaka come out together.

Pungwol's monaka look lovely and have a subtle sweetness that lifts your mood.

The bottom has a crisp texture, while the inside is soft and sweet — quite memorable.

Hwa has a strong sweet-and-sour fruit aroma, like an iced tea — with mango mixed in as well.

Geum was a menu where matcha's bitterness and kumquat's tartness came through together.

Is Suwolgyeonghwa worth a night visit?

Today I covered parking info, the night stroll atmosphere, and the Pungwol, Hwa, and Geum menus at Suwolgyeonghwa, a Songjeong café in Busan.
