Actually, Chef Cho's signature strawberry cake was what my partner gave me for my birthday last year. This time I went back and forth on what to get, then landed on the peach berry cake since it seemed like something you can only catch in summer 🍑

Chef Cho was featured as one of the '4 Kings of Cake' on a Korean TV show about master craftspeople, and reportedly uses 100% dairy fresh cream, making cakes 2–3 times a day.

The lineup at this Gangnam cake shop was gorgeous! There were so many kinds, all so pretty, that even though I'd already decided what to order, I couldn't take my eyes off the showcase for a while.

💰 Peach berry No.1 / Mini. The peach berry cake comes in No.1 and Mini sizes. No.1: ₩53,000 / Mini: ₩39,000. It might seem a bit pricey at first, but once you see the amount of fruit piled on top and the sheer size, it's more than reasonable! My partner and I both love cake, so we went with the No.1 size that day.

How the peach berry tastes: firm peach meets summer strawberry

True to its name, peach berry is a cake with both strawberries and peaches. The peaches were doetbok (a firm, sweet variety), on the sweeter side, and the strawberries were summer strawberries with a fresh, natural sweetness — the peach's sweetness and the strawberry's tartness went really well together! Best of all, it was loaded with peaches (Gyeoul-i's favorite summer fruit) and strawberries (her favorite winter fruit) ♥

Looking at the top, you can barely see any cake underneath the mountain of fresh strawberries and peaches — and with no fancy decoration, it really feels like the fruit itself is the star.

Cutting into the cake, there's plenty of fruit inside too. The sponge was soft and fluffy, and the cream was nutty and smooth. Best of all, the cream wasn't overly sweet — the combination of fresh cream, fluffy sponge, and fresh fruit worked better than expected . . ♥

Who should order Chef Cho's peach berry cake

From the strawberries and doetbok peaches piled on top to the fruit tucked inside — Chef Cho's peach berry cake satisfied both visually and on taste 🎂 The strawberry fresh cream cake I had last year was delicious too, and now that peach berry has also hit the mark, I want to try the real mango rose next time 🥭
