Seoul coffee shop open late near Gyodae Station: Mini Male decaf venti

A café near Gyodae Station that's always busy and popular. This is genuinely one of my go-to Gyodae Station cafés — I went for coffee and dessert on a date at Mini Male, where both the coffee and dessert are great.

Where is Mini Male Coffee Roaster Gyodae Court Branch?

It's right near Gyodae Station, so the accessibility is great — I end up going whenever I have plans in the area.

The storefront from outside

Even around 9pm, it was late but Mini Male was still packed as usual. You could call it a hotspot near Gyodae Station.

They're good at both coffee and baked goods, so every time I come I end up having dessert as well as coffee. Specialty coffee, coffee roastery, espresso, hand drip — the owner is truly passionate about coffee, so if you're looking for great coffee, this is the place!

Inside: minimal interior and seating

An emotive, minimal café near Gyodae Station. It's a clean space, but you can feel Mini Male's own sense of style everywhere.

The tables and chairs are arranged nicely for conversation, so I took some photos. When we walked in it was completely full, so I waited until closing time to photograph the interior!

A thoughtful touch — blankets are provided. Handy when the air conditioning makes it chilly in summer, or in winter too.

The menu and choosing your beans

They have both coffee and non-coffee menus ready, so even people who can't drink coffee can enjoy decaf, tea, or other beverages. And there are three types of coffee beans, so you can choose according to your taste!

Here's the coffee lineup! The Helsinki Latte is the signature menu, so we ordered one Helsinki Latte and the largest venti size Americano decaf. Since it was evening, we went with decaf beans for both. Even though it was late, I was craving a cold coffee that day.

And since I was craving something sweet, I also ordered the orange pound cake! It had big, generous orange slices piled on top, and it looked delicious just from that.

Cookies and gift sets to take home

They're famous for cookies too, so there were many varieties, and some were already sold out. We took a few home to go! The handmade cream castella looked so good... honestly I wanted to try every dessert, but I held back since I'm 'on a diet' (in name only) 🐥

There are also plenty of great gift items — cookie gift sets, drip bag sets, lattes, cups and more. The designs feel like a thoughtful gift, so next time I need a small gift for a friend or family member, I'm planning to pick some up here. :)

How the Helsinki Latte, iced Americano and orange pound cake tasted

Our three orders arrived: the signature Helsinki Latte, iced Americano, and orange pound cake.

I originally ordered the iced Americano, but after trying my boyfriend's Helsinki Latte, he suggested we swap haha. The nuttiness of the milk and beans with a subtly sweet finish was so good! Of course the iced Americano's beans were also delicious — good stuff. It felt like a while since I'd had really good coffee.

The orange pound cake wasn't just dried orange but had actual juicy orange with such a good fragrance that it was seriously... so, so delicious. The pound cake itself was so moist too ㅠㅠㅠ If you're looking for a Gyodae Station café that's also great at dessert, it's Mini Male!!
