Seaweed soup, tteokbokki, raw liver and tripe arrive as soon as you sit

At Uhwa Gopchang, the moment you sit down, seaweed soup, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), pickled onion, and raw liver & tripe (optional) arrive. There are about 7 outdoor tables. Since they slaughter same-day, getting the raw liver and tripe here is a real highlight...

Drinking on an empty stomach is bad, so I gulped down the seaweed soup. I can't help myself and always order extra tteokbokki and seaweed soup...

We wanted to make sure your mouth is never bored while the gopchang is being pre-grilled. We serve a variety of dishes together, like tteokbokki, seaweed soup, raw liver and tripe. Honestly, things like this move me... because I can start drinking right away while waiting for the gopchang to be pre-grilled 😭 We started with draft beer 🍻

Ordering at Uhwa Gopchang is done via the QR code attached to the table ~,~ I ordered the assorted platter for two, flying fish roe fried rice, draft beer, and soju 🫪🫪

The assorted gopchang platter includes gopchang + makchang + daechang + beef brisket + heart, along with rice cake, bean sprouts, chives, potato, and mushroom. Between enjoying the outdoor seating and eating gopchang, we were already busy, so having it come out already grilled was a huge plus 💯👍 The staff were also super kind,, 🪽

Do you see how my friend's hands never stopped taking photos? That's how good it was,,~

Not chewy at all, completely tender and juicy with a savory flavor. Double thumbs up.

Which of the five cuts wins? Gopchang

Gopchang + makchang + daechang + beef brisket + heart — of these, the number one in my heart is gopchang!!! No gamey smell at all, and it was packed full of fat, so it was so delicious. Of course it was delicious to begin with, but eating it in the fall breeze made the atmosphere so good that the soju just kept flowing ㅜ,ㅜ Gopchang really has to be paired with soju 🍶 One piece, one shot of soju, another piece with chives and bean sprouts on the side — before you know it, it's all gone.

The fried rice topping is complete..! Here's the tip — save a few pieces of gopchang, chop them up, and you can have gopchang fried rice. The best~

Ah.. this is good.. ah.. this is really good? Ah.. this is so good. Ah.. good. The two of us ate until we were stuffed, licking the plate clean.

Waiting times and when the outdoor tables are open

Writing this makes me want to eat it again,, We went for a quick drink but ended up enjoying ourselves so much we went for round two haha. I went on a weekday so there was no wait, but with weather this amazing and on a weekend, there'll probably be a wait,,, Hurry and go before the outdoor season ends. I'm planning to go again ^__^

** Outdoor tables (yajang) run from late April to early November. Note: outdoor seating is first-come, first-served, so reservations are difficult, and during rain, heat waves, or cold snaps, they pause outdoor service for safety. **
