Chicken tofu noodles at Waiseutabeu, a Cheongju diet restaurant
In short
Waiseutabeu Diet Cheongju Gagyeong Branch is a protein box and salad restaurant newly opened behind Homeplus Cheongju in Gagyeong-dong, Cheongju. Two people shared the chicken tofu noodles and the beef pasta, both served in 5 to 10 minutes, with tender chicken and beef and teriyaki and wasabi mayo sauces that suited them especially well. Waiseutabeu is a good choice when a salad alone is not enough for a filling diet meal.

I recently visited Waiseutabeu Diet Cheongju Gagyeong Branch, a newly opened spot in Gagyeong-dong, Cheongju! I'm dieting these days and there's no salad place near my house, so I was always struggling to figure out what to eat. This place has tofu noodles and pasta as well as salads, so it's great for whenever you want a light but satisfying meal. Here's my honest review after visiting in person.

Inside Waiseutabeu: is it comfortable for eating alone?

The store is located behind Homeplus Cheongju, so it was easy to find. I live nearby so I walked over slowly, and the red sign caught my eye right away.

Apparently Waiseutabeu Diet is Korea's first protein box specialty store! Just looking at the photos already makes my mouth water...

Cheongju Pay is accepted, and you can dine in, order delivery, or get takeout.
Since it's a newly opened store, the whole place felt clean and comfortable, which I really liked.
It was my first visit so I came with my partner, but the vibe felt totally fine for eating alone too — and in fact there were quite a few solo diners there.
I'll have to come alone next time haha.
Waiseutabeu menu: tofu noodles, oat rice, cauliflower rice and mala flavour

When you're dieting, you still want to eat well and enjoy your food. Waiseutabeu had such a variety of menu items that I liked it even more. I think the biggest strength is being able to try one ingredient in many different ways.

You can choose chicken, smoked duck, beef, or salmon, paired with pasta, oats, tofu noodles, cauliflower rice, and more, depending on your taste.

On top of that, they even have the trendy mala flavor!! With options like this, you can really enjoy a delicious meal even while dieting. If you only eat salad while dieting you get hungry fast, but eating regular meals means the diet goes out the window... So having options like tofu noodles or oats, which are lower in the way of weight gain, gave a wider range of choices that I really liked. There's also protein rice bowls, pastas, and sides like Greek yogurt, soup, and protein cookies!

Kiosk ordering and a 5–10 minute wait for the food

You order yourself at the small kiosk inside! We debated what to get and ended up ordering the most popular items — chicken tofu noodles and beef pasta!!

I also liked that you can choose your preferred sauce, size-up, and extra toppings for each dish. Right now there's a Naver receipt review event where you get a cold drink for writing a review, so give it a try!

The food came out really fast, in about 5–10 minutes, so it would be great for a quick meal during a busy mealtime.

Wow! Can you see how it looks? The smell alone was amazing.

How the chicken tofu noodles taste with teriyaki and wasabi mayo sauce
First up, my partner's order — chicken tofu noodles! Loaded with chicken on top of the tofu noodles, and the meat was so tender with no gamey smell at all, genuinely delicious enough to make me question whether this was really a diet meal!!!

Thanks to the light, distinctive texture of tofu noodles, it felt less heavy than regular noodles, and eating it with the chicken made it twice as filling.
The sauces that came with it were teriyaki and wasabi mayo, and wow... this place really knows its sauces. Dipping into them brought out an extra savoriness, making the already-tasty chicken even better — it made me realize you can actually enjoy eating a salad-style meal this much.

Above all, the default sauce that comes with it is a little spicy, which cuts through any greasiness, so you keep going back for more — my partner said this sauce was the kicker and kept praising it.

If you like tofu noodles, you have to try this! I think satisfaction would be high, and if you're looking for a diet meal in Cheongju's Gagyeong-dong like I was, I recommend it haha.
Waiseutabeu beef pasta: how much meat, plus the side salad
Next up, the one I ordered — beef pasta! Can you see how much meat there is? Is this even real...

It came out warm, and the first bite of meat was truly not tough at all — so tender and delicious. Meat usually gets dry or chewy once it cools down or sits for a while, but this stayed tender and tasty all the way to the last bite.

There are times when you crave pasta even while dieting, and this dish let me enjoy it with a bit less guilt, which I really liked!

With beef and pasta together it felt very filling, and best of all there was a generous amount of salad too — eating meat and salad alternately kept it from getting monotonous, and it was just delicious. Genuinely a top pick for salad food in Cheongju's Gagyeong-dong!
And you know the garlic flakes are pure love, right?
The chicken went really well with the wasabi mayo, while the beef was a perfect match with the teriyaki sauce! Both dishes had their own distinct charm, making for a satisfying meal! And above all, the portions are seriously generous.

Is Waiseutabeu worth it for a diet meal in Gagyeong-dong, Cheongju?
I believe that when dieting, it's more important to manage your meals while still eating well, rather than just starving yourself or cutting portions. In that sense, I really liked that Waiseutabeu Diet Cheongju Gagyeong Branch lets you eat a healthy variety, from salads to tofu noodles to pasta.

I'd recommend this not just to people looking for salads in Cheongju, but to anyone wanting a satisfying diet meal beyond just salad. If you want a clean meal or you're searching for a great salad spot in Cheongju's Gagyeong-dong, give the newly opened Waiseutabeu Diet Cheongju Gagyeong Branch a try. I'm planning to come back and try the other menu items next time!
