Cheongju pizza near Connect Hyundai: cheese crust at Cheese Wave
In short
Cheese Wave Cheongju Terminal Branch is a pizza restaurant in Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju, right next to Connect Hyundai. On a Friday at 8pm the order was a half-and-half pizza — half bacon potato, half sun-dried shrimp — with a cheese crust add-on, garlic butter french fries with garlic dipping sauce, and two cans of Coke Zero. The crust at Cheese Wave isn't overly thick, so the pizza tastes less heavy, and the cheese crust is an add-on worth paying for.

My first sponsored(?) log — but since I paid for about 80% of it myself (the downside of being a foodie haha), can I just call it self-paid? Hahahaha.
Honestly I really love pizza. I mean, can pizza ever actually taste bad?! And I love the crust too, so that says it all.
So I went to eat pizza! Back to the point — Cheese Wave Cheongju Terminal Branch is a place I'd recommend even if it weren't sponsored (I really want to classify it as self-paid).
How does the half-and-half pizza at Cheese Wave Cheongju Terminal Branch taste?
What I ordered at Cheese Wave Cheongju Terminal Branch was a half-and-half pizza (half bacon potato, half sun-dried shrimp) with added cheese crust, garlic butter french fries, garlic dipping sauce, and two cans of Coke Zero. The most important thing — the taste — is good. Officially a Cheongju pizza must-try!
- I can't forget how hot the pizza was at first — so hot I could barely touch it with my hands. Haha, but you know dough is always best warm, right? It was so good.
- The bacon potato half especially suited my taste (though I do love potatoes to begin with!). The potatoes were cooked just right, very satisfying.
- I wish the sun-dried shrimp had a bit more shrimp, but for the price, I thought the flavor was satisfying enough.
- And definitely add the cheese crust — the cheese flavor is amazing.
- The garlic dipping sauce can't possibly taste bad, and the cheese powder and red pepper flakes on the table are so good — sprinkle away!
- Oh, it's not quite American Chicago-style pizza, and not quite Italian wood-fired style either — somewhere between Italian and Korean style. The crust isn't too thick, so it feels less greasy and more suited to our taste.

How close is Cheese Wave to Connect Hyundai?
Cheese Wave Cheongju Terminal Branch is located completely right around Connect Hyundai (Hyundai Connect)! The location is great. A Cheongju food recommendation right by Connect Hyundai!

- After watching a movie or shopping at Hyundai Connect, you get hungry, but the restaurants inside Hyundai Connect are surprisingly pricey and the taste is... just okay. So if you're at Hyundai Connect anyway, I recommend Cheese Wave.
- When we went around 8pm on a Friday, it wasn't too crowded — about half the seats seemed filled. It might get busier later in the evening.
- We ate in the restaurant, but they said takeout and delivery are both available! But the place is so clean that eating in seems nice too haha.
Cheese Wave Cheongju Terminal Branch prices: is it good value?
The prices at Cheese Wave Cheongju Terminal Branch aren't exactly budget-pizza territory, but they're not bad given today's prices. Pizzas run around ₩20,000, and sides start from around ₩4,000.

- Cheese pizza (₩18,900), Pepperoni (₩24,900), Bacon Potato (₩24,900), Sun-Dried Shrimp (₩26,900) or so.
- Sides are varied too — French fries (₩3,900), Buffalo wings (₩5,900), Spaghetti (₩6,900), etc. Side prices seem a bit cheaper. They even had the once-super-popular Chili's-style cheese sticks (if that's what I think it is) — ugh, if I'd known, I would have ordered it.
- I think there was some kind of evening beer promotion, but we don't drink much so I didn't look closely and don't really know the details.
Inside Cheese Wave: seating, atmosphere and blankets
Cheese Wave Cheongju Terminal Branch has pretty, clean interior design. Infinite Challenge (Muhan Dojeon) was playing on the wall screen, and blankets were provided for the chilly weather.

- I love Infinite Challenge, and it just happened to be playing haha. I don't remember there being sound though(?) — used more as an interior object, that Muhan Dojeon vibe!
- A lot of restaurants these days use Coupang wet wipes, so it was a little surprising this one didn't. Of course, that might be possible because it's a franchise! Still, they seemed to care about the interior.
- The staff was kind too.
- 'Good pizza can change the world' — I completely agree with that.

The weather's gotten chilly lately, and they even have blankets ready!!
If you're coming to Cheongju and you love pizza, I definitely recommend visiting at least once...! Ugh, I really need to lose weight..... failed again today.....
