Friend's birthday at a Pangyo restaurant, lasagna on baguette: Andover
In short
Andover is a Western restaurant on the Baekhyeon-dong café street in Pangyo, Seongnam, which first opened in Cheongju's Dongnam district before moving here. For a friend's birthday, the reserved table at Andover was marked with a wine bottle and set with shared tongs and a spatula. The order was spicy shrimp bisque pasta for ₩26,000, Andover lasagna for ₩29,000, an extra baguette for ₩2,000 and an Italian organic soda for ₩7,000. Andover, a restaurant that moved from Cheongju to Pangyo
I was trying to figure out where to take my friend for her birthday when Andover popped into my head. It sounded familiar, so I looked it up... and it turned out to be a restaurant that had actually run in Cheongju's Dongnam district before moving up to Pangyo lol. It was famous back when I lived in Cheongju too, so I went partly for the nostalgia and partly to celebrate my friend's birthday!

Andover's exterior and interior

The exterior is a clean ivory tone with ANDOVER written large in black letters — simple but classy. It's floor-to-ceiling glass so you can see straight in, and the mood already looked good before we even stepped inside.
Once you go in, the mood completely changes. Wood-tone interior plus warm lighting made the whole place feel modern yet cozy.

There are tables for four and also longer tables — when we visited, a group was having a gathering at one of them, and it had a really nice atmosphere. I get why so many people come here for brunch in Pangyo.

A tiny market corner inside the restaurant
The most surprising part was a small market corner off to one side!

They sell Andover goods along with house-made sauces, meal kits and even wine. The aprons were so pretty I almost bought one lol.

Since we'd made a reservation, our table was marked with a wine bottle — such a small detail, but so charming... it made for a lovely spot to celebrate my friend's birthday.

What we ordered:
- 🍝 Shrimp bisque pasta (spicy) ₩26,000
- 🧀 Andover lasagna ₩29,000
- 🥖 Extra baguette (3pcs) ₩2,000
- 🍊 Italian organic soda (blood orange) ₩7,000
Pickles and shared tongs and spatula
While waiting, pickles came out first — just spicy enough to cut the richness, good to nibble on between bites.

And a thoughtful touch! They gave us tongs and a spatula to make sharing easier. Plenty of places make you ask for these, so it was nice they were already set out.
Shrimp bisque pasta (spicy) ₩26,000
First up was the shrimp bisque pasta (spicy), ₩26,000.

Passed the visual test right away. The shrimp were... seriously huge lol. Three palm-sized shrimp sitting right on top.

The bisque sauce, made from crustaceans simmered for a long time, was rich and savory — that umami kept building with every bite!?

The garlic scapes in it were great too — softly cooked but with a bit of crunch still left, and a hint of sweetness that paired really well with the sauce.

The noodles weren't your usual round spaghetti but a slightly flat pasta, so the bisque sauce clung to it better and it stayed delicious till the last bite.
Today's MVP, Andover lasagna ₩29,000
And then... today's MVP. Andover lasagna, ₩29,000. Honestly I ordered it thinking it must be the signature dish since it's got the restaurant's own name on it — and yeah, you absolutely have to order this!!!

My friend, who normally isn't even into lasagna, took one bite and said, "I think I've only been eating bad lasagna this whole time." "This is my new favorite." lol

From the outside it looks like there's not much sauce, but once you cut into it, every single layer is packed with meat sauce and tomato sauce!

The cheese was piled on generously too, stretching with every bite... genuinely made me happy.
Extra baguette (3pcs) ₩2,000 was a stroke of genius

We also added a baguette, and it was truly a stroke of genius. Piling the lasagna onto the baguette let the moist sauce soak right in — so good.

The baguette pieces were sizeable too, great for scraping up every last bit. The lasagna is also sold as a meal kit in Andover's market, so you can recreate the same taste at home — I'm already thinking I need to grab one next time.

Italian organic soda (blood orange) ₩7,000
Italian organic soda (blood orange), ₩7,000, came with a pretty wine glass too, which really lifted the mood~!! Great for anyone who doesn't drink but still wants that celebratory feel.
A Pangyo Western restaurant that works for birthdays, dates and brunch
Knowing the story of how it started in Cheongju and made its way to Pangyo made the visit feel even more memorable. The food overall wasn't heavy-handed with flavor — more like something made with care at home!? It made sense of what the restaurant describes as a family recipe... The style really lets the ingredients' natural flavor shine, so it wasn't at all heavy afterward, and with such a nice atmosphere, it's a space that suits birthdays, dates and brunch equally well.
The lasagna especially comes highly recommended! If you're looking for a good-vibes Pangyo Western restaurant on the Baekhyeon-dong café street, I'd recommend it — and if you want to enjoy both great Pangyo pasta and a nice atmosphere together, definitely give Andover a visit!
