Step off the elevator on the 4th floor and you're right at Stern Clinic. I've been to plenty of estheticians and skin clinics, but Stern Clinic in Bundang stood out just from its size!

The clinic uses an entire floor, so it's bigger inside than I expected, with a clean, calm overall atmosphere.

On one side of the clinic, you can see the director's various certifications and career history.

She apparently received training in Germany, and seeing the wall full of certifications and career history made it feel even more like a place that specializes in problem skin. 👀🤍

How does the skin diagnosis and consultation work?

Seeing my skin condition directly on the device screen was surprising — it let me check things in much more detail. We looked at wrinkles, pores, and the surface condition of my skin together while she consulted with me, so I could compare it with the concerns I usually feel about my skin.

A clean, private treatment room 🤎

The main treatment started with cleansing. After removing sunscreen and any residue on my skin, they checked my bare skin with the device once more — I could see my current condition in even more detail than during the first consultation.

Light-based soothing treatment

First, a gel was applied to my face, followed by light-based soothing treatment.

Lately my skin has gotten sensitive enough that I've worried about anything touching my face at all. But since it started with soothing my skin gently rather than going straight into something strong, I could receive it without any pressure.

Device care adjusted to skin condition

Next came device treatment with plenty of gel applied to my face. Honestly, my biggest worry going in was whether the device treatment would irritate my skin.

But the output was adjusted to fit my current skin condition, and the device moved gently over my skin, so it felt comfortable without much irritation. It made me realize that for sensitive skin, adjusting the treatment to your current condition matters much more than always going strong.

Next came a treatment using hydrogen. It felt like cool air lightly tapping against my skin. Just like the previous step, it wasn't a strongly stimulating treatment but a cool, comfortable one.

I liked that instead of doing several treatments intensely all at once, it felt like they proceeded step by step, carefully considering my sensitive skin condition.

Finishing with a custom-cut mask

The session finished with a mask treatment. Instead of just placing a generic store-bought sheet mask on my face, they actually cut a mask to fit the exact shape and size of my face. 👀

It was pressed on carefully along the contours of my face so it wrapped around my whole face without gaps! Device treatment continued even with the mask on, and lying there comfortably, I ended up drifting off to sleep...😴 My skin has been so sensitive lately, but even through the finishing steps I could receive the treatment comfortably without any irritation. 🤍

After the treatment, they packaged up some products that would suit my sensitive skin!

In the past, when I had almost no skin concerns, I mainly got contouring or lifting treatments. But as dermatitis has recently appeared and my skin became sensitive, I realized that treatment suited to your actual skin condition matters even more.
