Songdo date café: Nuts Einspänner & Dwaejiba cookie at Standard Square
In short
Standard Square is a white-toned coffee and cookie café on Keonbensia-daero in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon. Ordering for two, we tried a Cream Mocha (hot), a Nuts Einspänner (iced only), a Dwaejiba cookie (inspired by the Korean Dwaejiba ice cream bar) and a red velvet cream cheese cookie, and the Nuts Einspänner was the most memorable. Quiet and full of natural light, Standard Square is a great date café in Songdo.

A Songdo date café recommendation: coffee and cookies at Standard Square

I'd been looking for a café with a good atmosphere in Songdo, and I finally made it to Standard Square (스탠다드 스퀘어). Clean white interiors with blue accents give it a really emotive feel, and I was in a good mood from the moment I walked in. The natural light from the big windows makes photos look so pretty, and the quiet vibe is perfect for a date. The coffee is known to be good, but the desserts turned out to be great too, so this is a Songdo café I definitely want to come back to.
Where is Standard Square, and what about hours and parking?
Standard Square is at 50 Keonbensia-daero, Unit 101-102, Building 101, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, and it's open every day from 09:00 to 22:00. It's 126 meters from The Prau bus stop, about a 2-minute walk.
Parking is comfortable: use the underground car park of Worldmark Prugio Complex 1. It's free if you leave within 30 minutes, and free for 3 hours if you visit the shops.
Interior and atmosphere of Standard Square
Standard Square is a Songdo café with a minimalist white interior and no fuss. When I opened the door, that clean look was the first thing I noticed.

White tables, blue trays, simple cups: every little detail has its own charm, so whichever seat you take, the photos come out pretty. Quiet music plays, so it's good for chatting with a friend or sipping coffee at leisure with a partner. The sunlight from the big windows made the afternoon even more relaxing.
What should two people order?
We ordered four items at Standard Square: a Cream Mocha (hot), a Nuts Einspänner (iced only), a Dwaejiba cookie and a red velvet cream cheese cookie. The coffee and dessert combination was so good that I'd recommend ordering the same if you go as a pair.
- Cream Mocha (hot)
- Nuts Einspänner (iced only)
- Dwaejiba cookie
- Red velvet cream cheese cookie

Cream Mocha: a coffee like a dessert, served hot only
The Cream Mocha at Standard Square is sold hot only, a coffee that blends cream, espresso and chocolate aroma. The look was gorgeous from the moment it arrived. Soft cream covers the whole top and a rich cocoa scent drifts up, so it feels sweet just looking at it.

With the first sip, the thing you notice first is the mellow flavor of milk. Then the strong espresso and sweet chocolate follow naturally, so you can enjoy it like a dessert.

It's not just a sugary mocha; the deep coffee flavor stays alive, so I didn't tire of it right to the last sip. I could see why it's sold hot only.

The cream melts in softly and blends with the coffee, giving a cozy feeling. It's a drink to sip slowly and enjoy at your own pace.

Nuts Einspänner: the most memorable item at Standard Square
This Nuts Einspänner is so nutty and rich!

The Nuts Einspänner (coffee topped with cream) was the most memorable item at Standard Square. It's an iced-only drink, served cold, with a generous layer of nutty cream on top. I first tried the cream on its own, and it was really smooth and rich. The nut flavor comes through strongly and the sweetness is just right, so it's not overwhelming.
It's even better with the café latte underneath. The nutty cream meets the soft latte and creates a deeper flavor. The balance of sweet and nutty is so good that I kept thinking about it afterward. It's gentle enough that even people who aren't good with coffee can enjoy it without worry. I'd especially recommend it on a hot day.
Dwaejiba cookie: does it really taste like a Dwaejiba?
Cookie

The Dwaejiba cookie at Standard Square is a signature cookie: a rich chocolate dough with a strawberry base and cream cheese. Dwaejiba is a classic Korean ice cream bar (chocolate-coated strawberry), and the name was so cute I couldn't not order it. With the first bite I understood right away why it's called that. The dark chocolate dough, packed with Valrhona powder, has a deep, weighty chocolate flavor, and the strawberry base inside adds a fresh pop. With the cream cheese on top, it really tasted like eating a Dwaejiba ice cream.

It's slightly crisp outside and moist and fudgy inside, so the rich chocolate spreads as you chew. The freshness of the strawberry here and there balances the chocolate, so it wasn't heavy at all. It went even better with coffee, and one cookie is bigger than you'd expect, so sharing between two is plenty. If you love desserts, I'd definitely recommend this signature cookie.

Red velvet cream cheese cookie: I'd order it again
The red velvet cream cheese cookie is a red cookie with cream cheese inside a soft red velvet dough. It looked so pretty, and when you bite in, the smooth cream cheese blends in naturally. It's sweet with a subtle cocoa aroma, and the richness of the cream cheese made the balance really good.

It wasn't too sweet, so I kept reaching for more. The texture was appealing too: slightly chewy outside and moist inside, with a softness unlike an ordinary cookie.
Eaten with the Cream Mocha, the chocolate and cream cheese combination felt even richer, and it also went really well with the Nuts Einspänner. Personally, it's the one I'd order again when I revisit.

How to pair the coffee and cookies
At Standard Square, I'd recommend pairing the Cream Mocha with the red velvet cream cheese cookie, and the Nuts Einspänner with the Dwaejiba cookie. The Cream Mocha, with its deep chocolate aroma and soft cream, was a dream match with the red velvet cream cheese cookie, and the nutty cream of the Nuts Einspänner seemed to bring out the rich chocolate and strawberry of the Dwaejiba cookie even more. Eaten together, the coffee and dessert felt much more complete than enjoying each separately.
Why Standard Square is a great Songdo date café
- Emotive white interior
- Natural light from big windows
- Distinctive homemade cookies
- Smooth, tasty specialty coffee
- Quiet, relaxed atmosphere
- A photogenic café
It's a good spot for dates, café hopping with friends, or a solo coffee break. If you want to enjoy both coffee and dessert in Songdo, I'd recommend Standard Square. The smooth Cream Mocha, the nutty Nuts Einspänner, and the characterful Dwaejiba and red velvet cream cheese cookies each had a clear personality yet worked harmoniously together.
The atmosphere is lovely, so I wanted to stay a long time, and you get pretty photos too, so it suits a Songdo date course. Once you visit, you naturally start wondering about the next menu item, so next time I really want to try the other seasonal desserts.
