My friend and I went to Moshi Moshi PNU Branch (모시모시 부산대점) and ordered one hoehansang (sashimi set meal) each. Along with sushi, the set included raw fish, udon, and tempura, so we could have a full meal without choosing extra dishes.

Where is the sushi restaurant near Pusan National University?

The restaurant is on the first floor at 271-5 Geumgang-ro, Geumjeong-gu, Busan. It is close to Pusan National University’s main gate, in the alley by the NC Department Store parking lot, so it did not feel like a difficult walk from campus. Once I entered the alley, the sign and outdoor menu board made it easy to find.

There was a notice at the entrance saying it had opened in February 2012. It stood out to me that, as of 2026, it had been in front of Pusan National University for about 14 years.

Where can I check the menu and ingredient origins?

I could look over the outdoor menu board before going in. In addition to set meals such as sushi hansang and hoehansang, there were assorted sushi, set menus, sashimi, and various Japanese dishes. We chose the hoehansang because we wanted sashimi as well.

A separate notice at the entrance said that the restaurant does not use seafood products from Japan.

There was also an origin-information board for seafood and meat inside, which I could check before ordering.

Is it suitable for two people or a larger group?

Once inside, I found more tables than I had expected from the outside.

All seating was at standard tables. It was comfortable for my friend and me to eat together, and there were also places where a larger group could sit.

The space felt fairly roomy, so it seemed suitable for a family meal or a casual gathering as well.

The table had the basic items needed for the meal, including soy sauce and small dipping dishes.

How do you order the hoehansang, and what comes with it?

We ordered through the table kiosk. There were many hansang meals, assorted sushi options, and set menus, so I spent some time looking through them. My friend and I ordered two hoehansang sets and each had one.

My hoehansang came with 8 pieces of sushi, sashimi, 3 types of tempura, udon, vegetable salad, and tofu salad. With the accompaniments for the sashimi and sushi as well, two sets quickly filled the table.

What kinds of sushi and fish were included?

Several types of sushi included in the Moshi Moshi hoehansang

The sushi included a mix of white fish, salmon, shrimp, and more. The fish on top of the rice was fairly long and thick. From mild white fish to richer cuts and lightly seared pieces, it was fun choosing them one by one.

How substantial is the udon that comes with it?

The udon was not just a small amount of broth on the side; it came as a bowl with noodles and fried tofu. Having warm broth between the cold sashimi and sushi made the set feel less monotonous.

What was included in the sashimi?

The sashimi included white fish, salmon, tuna, and more, cut in substantial slices. Being able to eat sashimi separately from the fish on the sushi was the biggest reason I chose the hoehansang. It meant I did not have to order separate dishes when I wanted both sushi and sashimi.

How were the salads and tempura served?

It also came with a vegetable salad and soft tofu. The tofu had a generous amount of nutty sesame-based sauce on top. Eating the soft tofu between the sashimi and sushi changed up both the flavor and texture, so I kept reaching for it.

The tempura came in three pieces, including shrimp and vegetable tempura such as sweet potato. The warm udon and tempura made the meal feel less like an uninterrupted run of cold dishes.

Is one hoehansang set filling enough?

Once the set was spread out, I could eat a little of many things: not only sushi and sashimi, but also noodles, tempura, and salad. For me, it was a good, filling meal.

When sushi alone feels a little lacking but a separate plate of sashimi feels like too much, the hoehansang seemed like a middle-ground option.

My friend and I each had a set in front of us and ate the sushi, sashimi, udon, and tempura in whatever order we wanted. It was convenient not to have to think about how much to share. On a day when I wanted sashimi and sushi near Pusan National University, I would look at the hoehansang again.
